There were a lot of things about this week that Prompto was really, really, really coming to hate, but the worst of it was that, even on his birthday, he'd been denied even the existence of the puppy pen at Furnado, because even the shelter had been transformed into some terrible soulless corporate business and there was no puppy pen or big giant fish tank big enough for some giant sharkman prince to spend his winters in, the vet had been replaced by more of those TV headed people, and what remained was just a handful of tiny pets in habitats that was just making him a little sad.
No one would fight off snowmen with hairdryers to protect this place. But while he was here, Prompto was going to at least try to make the best of it for the animals that were here and hope that, wherever they were while all this went down, the animals that were usually here at the shelter were having the time of their lives, and just focus on getting through his workday so he could enjoy celebrating his birthday with his wife later.
