Trooper Station, Friday

Watts had slept poorly again last night, but given that he'd missed his shift entirely last week due to illness, he could not justify doing so again simply because he was tired.

So he was here. Even though there was not exactly much in the way of actual work to be done, because 'here' was Fandom, and barring raccoon thefts and fake squirrel deaths, there wasn't a large amount of actual crime happening.

Come lunchtime, there was a knock on Llewellyn's office doorway. Steven smiled at him. "Hello, you."

Sleep-deprived or not, Steven's presence always merited a smile. "Hello, you."

Steven came in, closing the door behind him for privacy. "How are you feeling?"

"Pleased to see you," Watts tried, because that much was certainly true.

"Oh dear," Steven said. He carefully put the insulated bag down on Llewellyn's desk, then came around the desk to kiss him. "Day not going well?"

"I cannot say that, now that you are here."

Steven gave Llewellyn another kiss then looked him over to see how he was. "And before I got here?"

"Tedious," Watts informed him. "Dull."

"I'll do my best to be interesting then," Steven said. He gave Llewellyn another kiss to seal that deal.

"Darling," Watts said, hands around Steven's waist as he held him close following that kiss. "You could read the dictionary aloud and I would find that interesting."

Steven put his arms around Llewellyn's shoulders. He grinned to show he was making a joke. "I don't want to spoil the end but it does involve zebras."

Given his somewhat sleep deprived state, Watts definitely appreciated that smile-

Well, he always appreciated Steven's smiles, but that particular 'I am about to make a joke' smile was particularly useful when he was not feeling at his sharpest.

"Hmmm. And zigzagging, I suspect."

Steven's smile grew wider as Llewellyn joined him. "Zippers as well."

"Ah, now that one is a spoiler," Watts pointed out. "Didn't have those in Toronto." He was familiar enough with them now of course, but they'd been new and novel at one point.

"Oh dear," Steven said. "I didn't ruin the story for you, did I?"

"Hmm, afraid so," Watts tsked.

"Oh dear, I'm sorry," Steven said. "I'll not tell you what happens in the middle then. Though there are some exciting locations."

"I've always wished to visit the Maldives," Watts said thoughtfully.

[hasaknightjob]

"Places with mountains as well," Steven said.

"Those must offer a stunning view, I'm sure," Watts noted.

[hasaknightjob]

"Much more than the molehills," Steven agreed. "But those are more grounded."

"Absolutely incorrigible," Watts grumbled, shaking his head.

Steven grinned proudly. "Would you like lunch now?"

"Yes I would, you scoundrel," Watts told him.

"You love me for it."

Steven gave Llewellyn another kiss before going to unpack the insulated bag. He took out a cassoulet along with one of Llewellyn's crusty breads and sweet iced tea. Steven served it all up, making sure Llewellyn got bigger portions.

He then presented it to Llewellyn with a flourish. "Here we are. Since the Olympics is going on in France right now I thought I'd make something sort of on theme for that? French?"
