J,GoB, Sunday Morning
It was Easter morning, which meant that of course Lydia and her children were definitely going to church after this. No, really. You couldn't miss church on Easter.
They just needed to fortify themselves first. With pastry. A serious conversation was underway at their table about whether or not cats went to church. George thought they didn't, but Kit pointed out that Aunt Kitty did, so there, and Lydia couldn't say she was wrong. Lydia, for her part, would have said cats didn't eat croissants, but Kit's little familiar was proving her decidedly wrong on that point.
(Open bakery is open!)

He was, however, coming out for pastries, because apparently this void child had an appetite for them.

"Yes, of course," Jon said. Look, he was just going to humor them. Hopefully this would be over soon.

There were two children and a kitten staring at Jon's void child, and Lydia would be very curious to know what George's more demon-y eyes were seeing there, but not enough to ask, good Lord, no.
"And...your friend? May I introduce my...potential future children?" Still a phrase she couldn't believe she was uttering. "This is George and Catherine Wickham, and Kit's familiar, Amherst, of course."
"Mew," said Amherst, not very convincingly.

"Yes, um. This is my...well, this is Nex. They're apparently a...sort of a child?"
"Hi!" Nex said, very enthusiastically, bouncing on their sort-of-legs and waving. "I followed Jon the Archivist and John the Librarian, and they're helping me learn to be human!"
"Yes, well. Um." Jon remained convinced this was the worst idea. What kind of model human was he?
"Chocolate is an important part of it!"

"Well," George began, and then stopped as he tried to work out what percent human they were, considering that their father was a demon, but he was wearing a human's body.
Kit ignored that and added, "And Amherst's a cat! He hasn't even got a boy shape yet like Aunt Kitty had a girl shape before she didn't have a cat shape. You really need to get on that," she told Amherst, and then turned her attention back to Nex. "But chocolate is important."

Jon came back with a chocolate croissant and a cinnamon apple muffin, which Nex utterly ignored in favor of the new people.

Don't be like Wickham, Nex.

"There's so much everything!" Nex agreed, bouncing. "But it's all so interesting!"
They finally saw their pastries, and squealed excitedly before taking up the chocolate croissant and whirling around in a circle before holding it up to their face.
"Thank you, Archivist Jon!"
Jon sighed. "You're welcome." He would prefer a different form of address, but at least someone had taught them manners. (What was he thinking? At least some other version of him had taught them manners; it almost certainly wasn't Constantine.)

Because 19th century England.
"Especially chocolate."
