It seemed the lawn gnome thefts had picked up once again.

Not thefts of lawn gnomes, mind. Thefts apparently perpetuated by the lawn gnomes.

Hence why Watts was currently having some of the Troopers go out to collect the alleged thieves and bring them to a holding cell.

Only in Fandom, honestly.

Come lunchtime, there was a Steven at Llewellyn's office door. The insulated lunch bag in his hand had luckily not been stolen by gnomes or otherwise.

"Hello, you."

"Hello, you," Watts replied, a slow smile spreading across his face as he looked up and saw Steven.

"How's your morning been then?" Steven asked as he came in and closed the door behind him.

"Dealing with a rash of thefts committed by lawn gnomes," Watts informed Steven.

Steven looked at him curiously. "What do lawn gnomes like to steal?"

"Keys," Watts said. "Single socks. Batteries. Light bulbs. Forks."

"Hopefully they're not trying to build something with all that," Steven said. He put the insulated bag down on Llewellyn's desk to free up his hands.

Which was helpful, because that's right when Watts pulled him in for a kiss hello.

Which worked out nicely, because Steven was in the mood to kiss Llewellyn right back.

"I've missed you," Watts said with a sigh.

Yes, they'd last seen each other that very morning.

"I missed you too," Steven said.

Whole hours. Hours.

"How was your morning?" Watts asked, arms still circling Steven's waist.

[hasaknightjob]

"Good," Steven said. "Had a bit of fun again with the food today."

"Well, colour me properly intrigued."

Steven grinned. He held his hand as though he had something in it, then mimed rubbing that thing on Llewellyn's arm.

Watts knew there was a joke there, from Steven's grin. But from his puzzled frown he wasn't connecting the dots from his statement to Steven's actions.

Steven had expected he would need to explain it. He kept grinning and doing the motion as he said, "I'm coloring you."

"Ah!" Watts nodded, a smile of his own appearing as he got the joke. "I see."

Steven pointed to the hand that was doing the miming. "Meant to be holding a crayon, you see."

"Those are the little coloured sticks of wax?" Watts checked. His main experience with crayons- with, indeed, most art supplies- was the handful of days when the possible-future-children visited.

[hasaknightjob]

"Precisely," Steven said. "When you use them it's called coloring."

[pocketpretzels]

"Right," Watts nodded. "The children liked to do that."

[hasaknightjob]

"So I was coloring you, you see," Steven said with a grin. "As requested."

He then mimed tracing a heart on Llewellyn's arm.

"Well, I am glad it was only imaginary colour," Watts said, smiling back.

Steven looked concerned. "I'd never ruin your clothes. Not on purpose, surely."
