After a morning filled with hung-over kids of all ages and shapes, Smith starts training
chloe_sullivan.
Someone walking near them would overhear her telling Chloe, "...and remember to keep an eye on the front counter at all times. It can start moving real fast and it's easy to not notice someone wanting to order something. Now, as for the service counter..."

"Good morning!" he says brightly. "Lovely weather, isn't it?"

Good afternoon, sir! (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/13964.html) It certainly is nice outside; I'm quite glad that I was the leisure to walk to work.
How may I be of service today, sir?

My goodness, yes, it is afternoon, isn't! I've been having such a pleasant time visiting my neighbors, I hadn't even noticed. *smiles*
Would you possibly have any scones?

*looks around the shop a bit*
"Do you serve tea here as well as coffee?"
no subject
Four of each? And we serve every kind of caffeinated beverage and a wide selection of other non-alcoholic ones, as well. In addition to English breakfast tea, we have a selection of herbal and green teas as well as house blends. Just select a jar and bring it over.
::indicated the long wall, which houses shelf upon shelf of large, cork-stoppered, square glass jars, each labeled with its contents::

*retrieves a selection of teas from the jars and places them on the counter* [ooc: am assuming tea bags]
"Are you owner of this shop?"
no subject
(OOC: I was thinking loose tea, but I/we can pack them for later use with a tea-strainer. Or you could've used your angel powers to make them into tea-bags yourself. :-)
::rings up the box of scones and selection of teas:: Actually, I'm an employee here; my name is Hank and I attend the school up the hill. Mrs. Smith is the owner, but she's not here at the moment. I think that she might be here around closing time, however.
Will this be everything, sir?
no subject
I pleased to meet you Hank. *offers hand* I'm Mr. Phale. I run the book shop by the park.
I'll have to stop by later and meet Mrs. Smith. I'm trying to acquaint myself with all my neighbors.
And I believe that will be all. An old, er, colleague of mine is supposed to be in town and I promised him scones when he comes to visit.

I'm sure I'll be back again soon. It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
*smiles at any other customers in the shop, and goes out the door*
