The Magic Cupboard

As is the trend, a new shop has appeared in town.

It is called The Magic Cupboard. The Magic Cupboard is, as you might imagine based on the name, a magicks shop.

The owner, Devon MacLeish, scored a one hit wonder with his band years ago. When he realised the band thing wasn't really going to work out, he pursued his other love, magicks.

Given the unique nature of the small town, Devon thought a magick shop was needed. (Please note, his mun lacks the knowledge that he would possess)

The Magic Cupboard is average size, with room to grow. In addiction to the magicks, there is also a small tea room.

Wesley lives in the apartment upstairs.

There is a HELP WANTED sign at the door, where the hours are marked 7pm-12am daily. (This is of course subject to mun availability)

Applicants should have at least a basic knowledge of magicks and a full understanding of the awsome power of magic.


Edit: [OOC: There was a character confusion with the original proprietor of The Magic Cupboard. The situation has been handled, and I present to you the new owner, Devon MacLeish. If anyone has or knows where I might find an icon of Jason Hall, I would be eternally grateful. Wesley nods from behind the counter where he is reading a magazine.

"Can I help you find anything?"

"Oh, I'm really shopping, actually. Just trying to get to know my neighbors." *holds out hand* "I'm Mr. Phale. I run the rare book shop here."

Devon (not Wes. *headdesk* It's all sortedout now) nods and steps around the counter.

"Mr. MacLeish, but you can call me Devon."

"Very pleased to meet you. This town seems to be growing so quickly I can hardly keep track. You have a very nice shop here."

"Thank you." Devon's eyes shift around the open space. "I'm rather proud of it. Just hope I don't go belly up in a month."

*smiles reassuringly* "Oh, I imagine with the unusual student body -- and faculty -- at the school, you'll have no difficulty."

*pauses*

"Just be careful around the large tree in the park. There seems to be something...odd...about it."

Devon raised his brow to that.

"Oh? Like what?"

"Well, I have heard that it has attacked several students. Threw them into the pond, I believe."

*has a sudden thought*

"Oh, and ignore the police box in the park. It belongs to the Doctor."

Another quirk of the brow. "I knew his place was special, but I had no idea. A tree that throws people into the pond? How cuious. And why would a doctor have a police box in the park?"

"Oh, I have no idea. Something to do with time travel, I think."

*looks around*

"Do you sell books?"

"A few. Back there," he points to a shelved off section of the store. "All magic based."

"Would any of them happen to be rare editions? I collect rare editions, you see."

"Not at the moment. I hope to get a more...varied collection when I start turning a profit."

"Ah, yes, of course. Please do keep me in mind if you happen to acquire any rare editions."

*smiles and offers hand*

"It has been a pleasure meeting you, Mr. MacLeish. Please feel free to drop by my shop anytime."

Isaac happens upon the small shop, and curiosity carries his feet inside. He looks around at the area of the small shop. Perhaps they have some new Psyenergy object...

Devon looks up and smiles at the customer. At least he hopes it's a customer who's going to buy something.

"Good evening. Can I help you find sometihng?"

Isaac looks over to the stranger. "Have you heard of a power called Psyenergy?" Just maybe, he can find something to help him here...

"Is that sometihng like body and mind energy? Are you looking for something specific?"

Isaac thinks for a moment, then shakes his head. "Psyenergy is a form of using mental strength to manipulate the elements around you, yes...I was wondering if you had anything here that uses its power."

"I don't have all my stock out yet, but you're welcome to look around, and I'll see what I've got in the back." Devon offered, knowing he wasn't exactly being helpful, but he was still trying to get things sorted out for himself.

"Is there anythin specific I should look for?"

Isaac shakes his head. "No, not that I know of...unless you have any swords that may be stronger than the one I have now..."

"Swords! I have several swords, and more on order," Devon gestured emphatically to the corner of the shop beyond his front register.

The swords were, of course, kept under glass and in wall displays. "I've always believed if a sword is meant for a person, the person will know it right away. See if any of them speak to you."

Well, if that was true, then every sword he's held was meant for him. He takes a step towards the glass and holds a gloves palm over the smooth surface, examining the blades.

That's the first Devon notices the gloves. he's curious, if there's a reason for them. But he's not sure he wants to know, so he doesn't ask, but cant help looking at them.

"See one you like?"

Well, the gloves are definitely not the oddest part of his attire. He turns to the shopkeeper. "Not really. The sword I bought in Lalivero is probably the best I've seen in a while."

Devon nods. "Well, like I said, I've got more on order. What makes the one from Lalivero special? I've neve rheard of Lalivero."

Isaac smiles and draws his sword from the sheath on his back. "Well, for one thing, it seems to have a mind of its own..." He holds the blade out, and it gives a howl, before releasing a burst of energy.

Devon is more than a little impressed. "Wow. That's awsome. It only do that for you?"

He shrugs and sheathes the blade. "I don't know, probably for anyone using Psyenergy...it might be the same as the Djinni."

"Next time I talk to my suppliers, I'll ask about psyenergy, see what they know."

Isaac smiles and nods. "Thank you."

"Of course. Anything to meet the needs of the community." Devon smiles. "It's good for me, too, being exposed to a new medium."

Isaac nods. "Experience is good in all fields, I guess."

"I think so." Devon nods. "Here's a business card. Call me, if there's anything specific you need. If I don't have it, I'll order it."

Isaac accepts the card and nods. "Thank you." He smiles vaguely.
