Illyana left the Attic and came down the stairs and exited the doors. She still didn't get why James liked her and why he was so afraid of Beka and Callisto. Of course, if he hadn't made the crack about the three of them being his dream...
She shook that thought out of her head as she approached him.
Illyana stared at his hand in puzzlement and finally realized that he wanted her to take his hand. Not wanting to ask him why and make him nervous, she took his hand in one of her's. He was shaking and for the life of her, she couldn't figure out why. She looked around to see if Callisto or Beka were standing around, but she didn't see them.
With a mental shrug, she held on to James' hand and walked with him.
"You're shaking and you seem nervous about something. Since I don't see Beka or Callisto around here I can only assume that I have inadevertantly done something to scare you. I meant what I said when I said I feel comfortable when I am with you."
As if summoned by his words, Beka gets up from her seat at the corner table. Her expression isn't exactly deadly, but it's close.
"Watch your hands, little man--" she manages before she catches sight of Flyboy, standing at the door.
She manages a glare for Sawyer, despite her evident pleasure at seeing Cam. "I'm watching you."
Then she turns to Cam, who's been directed toward her table, and is passing behind her. "Hey, you. What're you doing here?"
He smiles, but looks deeply worried, if totally the hottest thing ever in black leather. "I know you can take care of yourself. I just...I wanted to make sure."
She's pleased at this development, and leads him off to the table.
Before she sits, she smirks at Sawyer. She may not be the most couth person in the world, but even she has an inside voice. Fortunately it carries well. "As long as you don't hurt her. You and me, we've got no trouble."
Illyana is stunned at this turn of events. She wasn't exactly suprised to see Beka. In fact, had she not had a date with James, she probably would have been the one following Beka to the place to make sure she was safe and treated well.
Her eyes moved between Beka and James and she couldn't helped the pleased grin that spread over her features. James wasn't nervous any longer he was acting protective.
This was a new development that she hadn't expected.
She so had to talk to Beka about linking her to the Soulsword so they could hold telepathic conversations because she had a great many questions going through her mind now.
Beka enters. Alone. Dressed in black leather and looking like sex, sin, and destruction. She's expecting company, but she doesn't mind being alone. She's had enough angst to last awhile.
Right away she notices the table set aside for Ilyana and James, because it's romantic. That makes her a little jealous, but she'll get Cam to come around eventually.
She looks at the guy in the black suit and wishes she knew words for what these people are in this time period. Without appropriate terminology, she simply smiles to draw the sting when she says, "Valentine. Beka. Party of between 1 and 4."
When he responds with a bow and takes her to her table, she smiles and draws out her identicard. "If you please. Tell the bartender. I'd like something strong and not sweet."
