Spike's Pub: Wednesday Night
[The Doctor wanders in at a few minutes after seven. Not seeing CJ anywhere as of yet, he settles into a barstool and orders Glenmorangie with water, but not before attempting to unstick his foot from the floor.]

She steps inside, lets her eys adjust, and spies the Doctor. She joins him.
Hello, Doctor...thank you for the company.
She smiles *and signals to the bartender for a whiskey sour*
no subject
My pleasure, Ms Cregg.
[pays up front for the whiskey sour] You'll be needing to save up to fix your car.
no subject
*sips her drink*
Thank you.
But let's talk about something more pleasant. Um...
*absently plays with her necklace*
Tell me about yourself.
no subject
[raises an eyebrow at CJ, wondering if she's coming on to him] What about you, Ms Cregg?
no subject
*Chokes on her drink*
Once the coughing fit passes..
900 years old?!?!
*Still stunned*
...well, I used to be the Press Secretary for President Bartlet, and before that I worked PR for a firm in Hollywood. Um, I have a fish named Gail. I have uncommonly bad luck. And...I need another drink.
*ice clinks in the bottom of her glass*
no subject
[opens his eyes] It's all right, though, really. You know, I don't know any President Bartlet. You must be from a different dimension--I've been finding that happens a lot lately.
What sort of fish is Gail? And may I call you CJ?
no subject
*slides right past the different dimension comment*
Gail is a goldfish. It's a funny story actually. This guy from the press corps, Danny, I told him I liked goldfish, but I meant the little cheese crackers but he thought I meant actual fish so he got it for me as a gift and it was very funny...
*realizes she's babbling*
*realizes she is thinking about Danny*
*drinks half her drink at once*
Maybe it's not that funny.
I really haven't met many of the staff, I've been busy with my own classes and moving in. How about you?
no subject
You miss him quite a bit, then?
no subject
What? Who? Danny?
Um, well yes. He's gone to cover the war and the news kind of hit me...wrong.
I have a feeling he won't be coming back.
no subject
[pauses, looks vaguely haunted] I do know about feeling like that...a certainty that can't seem to disappear. And whether you're right or wrong in the end, it still disturbs you.
no subject
*plays with her ice with her straw*
Enough with the deep reflection. Really. Tell me more about you.
*rests her head on her hand and stares at him with a slightly glazed drunken look in her eyes*
no subject
[realises he sounds like an idiot] Look...I've seen a lot of lovely things, but I've also seen a lot of horrible things. I've travelled quite extensively, but it's...it's been quite some time since I've thought about who I am outside the context of being the Doctor, saviour and general troubleshooter.
[looks angsty in that way that only David Tennant can (http://hclairezone.tripod.com/david/bp189.JPG), wibbles]
no subject
Shots. *waves the bartender over and orders 4 whiskey shots*
Now we're going to drink these, we're going to cheer up, and we're going to behave like people who don't have any worries...agreed?
((ooc: He's handsome! Where and when can I see this show? I've never ever watched a Dr. Who episode in my life.))
no subject
[glances again] But what the hell. [lifts one of the shots in a toast to CJ] To not drinking alone!
no subject
*Returns the toast and puts the shot back like a champ*
Ahhh. That's it.
*takes a dainty sip of her cocktail to stop the burning*
Now, tell me about the lovely things you've seen.
no subject
[puts his hand down on the bar and leans in towards CJ] Well, there's the planet with the frozen sea, where you can walk on the waves. Would you like to hear about that?
no subject
*Leans toward the Doctor and meets him halfway*
No.
no subject
no subject
*Finishes her whiskey sour*
*Feels like she read this all wrong*
*Decides she doesn't care*
Doctor, I need some fresh air. Would you mind walking with me?
no subject
[helps CJ up] Of course I'll walk with you.
no subject
Let's get out of here then. I live on the south side of the park, #24 (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/14426.html?view=836954#t836954). You?
no subject
[looks bewildered] Look, if I've done something wrong...
no subject
What is a tardis?
*Slides her arm into his elbow*
no subject

no subject
You think I'm mad, don't you?
no subject
No. Not mad. I think you're...unlike anyone else I've ever met. You are, without a doubt, the most hand--
*Stumbles in her wedges and recovers without grace*
Ow.
no subject
Oops. [helps her up]
no subject
There are a lot of strange people here, I'm starting to think I'm one of the most abnormal considering the population...
no subject
And then those that are evil will get what they deserve, hopefully.
no subject
But we've gotta keep trying, right?
*heart skips a beat to learn he's one of the good guys*
no subject
((OOC: Could we shelve this until tomorrow? Not like I'm not having fun, but it's ridiculously hot here, and I'm fall-down tired...long day.))
no subject
My place is right there. Would you like to come in...cup of tea? The air has cleared my head, but I don't want to stop
flirtingtalking((ooc: I was just thinking the same thing...except for the heat part. I have to work tomorrow til about 2pst, and would be cool with picking it up then))
no subject
Sure.
((Sounds good by me. See you then! [wave]))
no subject
Please, come in. Have a seat.

-This Doctor is hasn't appeared in the show for more than two minutes yet. He's the current canon incarnation of the Doctor (last one was Christopher Eccleston). Tennant is signed on for the next two seasons. I chose to play Ten because of the current incarnation thing, and because I feel I have his voice down a little better than Nine/Eccleston, who was more angsty.
-The Eccleston season, which is over now, has not been picked up by any US networks, terrestrial or cable. If you like, there are several good torrents, though, as well as a community for sharing.
If you like, you can see more Tennant in the BBC series 'Casanova' or in this fall's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.))
