*smiles and nods* Yeah, thats nice, the book I mean. *sips on her drink again and stiring it up to get it nice and mixed* I'd say your suspicions would most likely be correct.
So.. are the guns gone all semester or just during school hours? *downs the rest of the drink and holds up a hand for another one* because I would love to go shooting with you sometime.
*nods* yeah I heard about all those, damn shame. Any leads? besides the usual, portals in the basement such nonesense like that? I mean, you've dealt with crime for a long time. *takes the drink* Ah listen to me being all serious. *sips the drink*
Can you get the one from the police station? Firing ranges can be so mundane.. firing out in the open *smiles* now thats a shoot-off worthy of you. *holds the glass in a quick mock cheer*
I'm afraid I can't discuss ongoing investigations in great detail, but I have discovered that some beer stills can explode with no damage.
*a slight laugh* Maybe so, but I have the feeling the locals would complain. And I'd rather not have to explain how someone inadvertedly wound up shot.
*smiles at your laugh* Well, *looking around* I dont think they would hear if we had the silencers on, but the shooting someone.. not that I would shoot someone but *sips* I dunno, you might be a bad aim. Better to keep it in the shooting range *said in a light tone so Sara knows she is kidding about the bad aim*
And moving onto other things because I cant seem to get you to break the rules about open fire, Why dont you just ask Grissom if he got you the book? *says in a matter of fact way*
Ah thats simple *smiles at you sincerly* you keep hoping because you care about him so much. Its in your eyes. Hell I dont even have to read your mind to see it. *grins*
*holds the empty glass for the bartender to see it and gestures towards Sara as well so he will bring her one too*
*looks very serious as she moves the new drink towards Sara* I would never read your mind, *shakes head* I dont read the minds of the people I respect and you Ms. Sidle, are one of the very few people that I do respect. *clinks Saras glass*
*hands Sara some pills* Keeps you from getting a hang over. Unless you want to stop, dont want to encourage binge drinking or anything, if you know your an AA member or something. Take em now so you can drink or save them for some other time. I have more if you ever need them.
*pauses for a minute and then seems to brush a thought off*
Why are you here anyway? in this bar instead of knocking on his door and making him see you?
Because I am a coward. And because he has rejected me before and I'd rather not go through it again. *Is rather matter of fact, but takes the pills with a brief smile of thanks.*
I came here hoping to leave him behind. Then I learned from a former colleague he had resigned his position. And then I saw him posting his class schedule. *shakes her head ruefully*
*gets two more drinks and sets it rather forcefully in front of Sara and stares into the space past her*
Men my darling, are a mystery even in the future. He is not sure of himself, *swears under her breath and then shakes head as she stares again* He really isnt. *sighs* I'd say its the vodka making it fuzzy but *drinks* I'd say its him. *starting to feel a bit of a buzz*
*grins* Yeah, I took three of these babies, they are beauties I must admit. *nods* my step dad manufactures them, *nods* yep. *laughs* Step dad, adopted dad, what the fuck ever to call him ...*trails off*
Oooohhh they are worth it I guess, its just, I dunno, I always find women are less complicated. *looks you in the eyes and smiles* well, your not though. *smiles again* because I wont read your mind. *says something indiscernible into her glass*
Do you think he'll ever be worth it? In your heart of hearts I mean.
Can't give an answer I don't know. *Her words have begun to slur a bit* All I do know is he says I'm beautiful and wishes he'd taken me to the bod...body fram...body farm in Vegas.
*giggles* Most romantic thing he's ever said. That's sad.
*laughs* the body farm *slightly wobbly* HAHAHA well, other then the body farm I have to admit the man has good taste *smiles* you are a beauty. much to beautiful for the body farm I'm sure.
Probably where I'll end up someday. *drinks--coughs, the vodka's much stronger* Not going to let myself be buried. Too morbid. Rather accomplish something, even after death.
Your all heart Sidle, your all heart. Cheers mate *clinks your glass* To the sexist teacher who even though she is too beautiful for the body farm will selflessly donate her remains to it.
Dartender!! Dartemer, we need some more drinks over here. My beautiful friend Sidle is going to donate her body to science. Grey Goose Vodka this time, its a bit strong it seems for my beautiful friend. We'd like to not taste it.
At...at...at least you tell me you think I'm smex--sexy. I dated all of one person the entire six years I was in Vegas. Very disappo...distra...discourag...very sad. Very sad.
*slides closer* well, he *puts her hand over yours for a minute to keep your drink on the table* was a damn fool. *pushes some of your hair behind your ear* you are very very sexy *slides her hand off yours to get her own drink, sits so that one of her legs are between yours*
*softly breaks the kiss off* I'm not asking for anything more then you can give ok. *smiles and kisses Sara again. we can go back to my room. River isnt there (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhighdorms/72295.html)
Archie takes a seat at the bar and notices the teacher, one he's seen around campus but doesn't know by name, looking rather morose. Still feeling ill at ease over the loss of his pistols, he orders himself a pint of the strongest ale in the house and nods over to her. "Evening, ma'am."
Sipping at his ale, Archie smiles back. "No, I'm afraid not, as I'm not taking any of your classes and have had no occasion to run into you. Midship --" He breaks off, remembering that this isn't the Royal Navy, and his rank is of no importance here. "Archie Kennedy, ma'am."
"Likewise." Archie raises his pint glass in her direction. "There is quite a bit of backlash going on at the school right now over this new weaponry rule -- which is, as a matter of fact, what brings me here."
He shakes his head and sighs. "I was so accustomed to being armed wherever I went, never knowing when an engagement might be upon us. And now to be suddenly stripped of my guns . . . I have never felt this naked, if you'll pardon the expression, in quite some time."
I know what you mean. *a wry smile* My previous employment required I remained armed no matter where I went. This is unsettling. Intellectually, I understand the principal's position, but I certainly don't like it.
"Nor do many people, I suspect." He drains his glass and sets it down on the counter. "Given the -- ahem -- volatility of certain people on campus, I can understand the decision, but by the same token I'd certainly feel much better with some means of self-defense. And as I don't exactly have a 72-gun frigate at my disposal . . . well." A mischievous grin crosses his face as he signals for a second pint.
*She chuckles* Must be somewhat disappointing to not have those resources. But a background in physics and chemistry will undoubtably be of use, should it come to that. And I fight decently well in hand to hand combat. We can only hope it doesn't come to that.
"I suppose I ought to brush up on my hand-to-hand, perhaps join the wrestling team or some such. Just in case, mind you. I also hope it never comes to that."

So *glancing at your hip* missing your gun already? *sips her drink* thats a shame.
How was your birthday?
no subject
*drinks* It was nice enough. Received more flowers than I know what to do with. And an anonymous book but I have my suspicions as to the sender.

I did ask and he hasn't answered me. Which is typical. *sighing*
Don't know why I keep hoping things will be different.

You don't.*
I'd better stop after this round -- I'm not going to teach with a hangover.

Sara...*sighs* I don't know what to do about this.*
*takes the glass* A mystery, yes. A pain to deal with, yes. Worth it? I'll have to get back to you on that.
