Luke's Diner - Yearbook Meeting

Rory enters the diner, and waits until a reasonable nunber of people show up.

"Hey everyone! Glad you could make it. I just wanted to meet briefly and discuss the idea of having a fundraiser.

Professor Jerusalem has some equipment that can make any number of foods - so I was thinking of maybe setting up a cart and vending treats of some kind on Saturday? We'll need cash in order to buy most of our supplies, since the school budget doesn't cover things like film, and I wouldn't expect our photographers to pay out of their own pockets for it.

Let me know how you feel on that. Oh, and hi to our newcomers! If you decide to join the staff, be sure to talk to me about it, and I'll be happy to find a place for you. We still have one editorial position open in photography, and any number of regular staff spots left.

Oh - and one last thing. Order anything you guys want for dinner - it's on me. (I recommend the French toast or the burgers. Both are excellent.)"

We may want to look into some inexpensive digital cameras - one time cost and good for a number of years. Otherwise we're going to need film and developing and all that over and over. And croping with an old fashioned... croppy thing. Major hassle. (And grease pencils make your hands all icky). Cropping on the computer is much easier.

Just a thought.

Dinner? Hm... Turkey Sandwich (hot with gravey), mashed potatoes, corn and chocolate cake for desert. Thanks!

"I definitely agree with that - except Harry had some idea about making the pictures move, using some magic he knows. I don't know if that would work with a digital camera."

Luke sets the food on the table, and eyes the kid. Harmless-looking, and seemingly eager to please. Good.

Rory walks over after receiving the flowers and invitation.

"Yes, I'll go to Homecoming with you," she says, beaming. She slips her hand into his, and discreetly whispers in his ear, "And no, to the other thing, though it's optional."

"Hallo, I don't think ve've met yet. Are you new to the yearbook?"

Veronica walks into the diner for the meeting and takes a seat as far from Rory & Logan as she can.

She isn't quite ready to face Logan after her breakdown on Thursday night, nor does she want to tell him that she talked to Lilly again.

Rory - sans Logan - walks over to where Veronica's sitting. "Hey," she says quietly. "You okay? Want anything to eat?"

"Sorry, I got a bit caught up in homevurk. Have I missed anything important?"

*Elizabeth walks in and takes a seat near Sheppard.* I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty upon myself to look at old yearbooks from other schools. There is usually a section with advertisements, which parents and other family give us money to put in a page completely devoted to their graduating senior. Perhaps that will help cover some of the expenses?

And I shall have the...hmm...Pancakes and eggs. With coffee to drink.

"Definitely," Rory says, smiling. "You're very thorough - I like that. I still think we should do this fundraiser Saturday, though - Professor Jerusalem seemed really bent on it. And I'll let Luke know about your food, and your coffee'll be right up."

"My sister's into that Renaissance stuff," he offers.

He approaches Rory sheepishly, "Is lunch over? Did I miss everything?"

"Aw, Max, you're not late at all. Though...it's dinner, not lunch," Rory says, taking his arm and pulling him into the diner. "Besides, I know the owner and we can stay late. Basically, we were just talking about having a fundraiser - Professor Jerusalem has this...thingy...that makes all kinds of yummy foods, and we were going to set up some sort of booth or cart on Saturday. You in?" she asks, ushering him to a seat. "Oh, and are you hungry? It's on the house."
