At Spike's Pub, Friday Afternoon
Geoff is sitting alone a table, with a barely-touched pint in front of him. He's frowning, and writing in a shabby book.

Stepping inside, she lets the door thump shut behind her and smirks at a sign fixed to the back wall behind the bar as she approaches it to order herself a Dos Equis. It reads: "The Big Bad smokes, you might as well light up, too." Once again oddly thankful she's no longer in California, she pays for her beer and heads over to the table where Geoff is seated.
"Hey, man," she murmurs amiably. "How's it going?"

Better than yesterday, my lady. And you?

*Geoff jumps up and pulls out the chair for Shane.*
Actually, I'm glad you stopped. This isn't going very well and I could use a break. *He closes the book he was writing in and pushes it aside.*

I should be working on a commission I received today. Which I am trying to work on. But I keep getting distracted into working on a poem for Paige. *A worry line appears between his brows, and he looks absently toward the door.*

No, no, please! Stay. I wan't waiting for anyone at all. Just lost in thought for a moment. I'm very sorry.
Please, tell me how your day has been. Have you noticed that people seem to be a little...irritable today?

Paige was saying that she felt odd. She thought it might just be that she was tired, but I get that feeling that there's something she's not telling me.
*He pauses, and frowns at the beer as though it had done something annoying.*
Lately, I get the feeling quite a lot of the time that there's something she's not telling me.

"You think it's something major?" Shane asks, glancing up at him as she picks at the corner of the label on her beer bottle.

I don't know. I know that Paige has a friend with the sight, but she hasn't told me anything about what's going on today. It wasn't bothering me this morning, but more and more I'm feeling the urge to pack up and get out of town.
*He shakes his head again, this time as though trying to clear it.*
Maybe it's just the foul mood everyone is in. *He smiles wanly at Shane.* Are you working at Deb's tonight?

She nods as she takes a sip of her beer. "Yeah, you?" Her brow quirks in inquiry.

Yeah. Paige has a class tonight, so it works out well. I'll probably be working Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. If Deb approves, of course.
*He smiles a little at the thought of Deb, and the way she took him in like a starved pup the night before.* She's a good woman. I hope the business does well for her.

Admirer? *He smiles, and takes a slow sip of his beer.*

Made for you? He made them for you? *grins* That's a little...weird. But, I won't be one to judge. *grins again, and takes another sip*

*sighs* Do you have any idea how soon we have to get over to Deb's? It's getting so dark out, I can't tell what time of day it is anymore.

[OOC: And a perfect segue into the thread at Deb's that you've already started. Good work! :)]
