At the Bank

Before he had actually had a bank to open, Salmoneus had gathered equipment and put it in his 'office' to make things look modern. Most of it, he had no idea what to do with, and he hadn't had a chance to explore through most of the items.

While the bank was open today, it had been slow, and Salmoneus, still drinking from his ever present Seltzer bottle, had decided to pull out one of the machines he had gathered for his bank 'office' and try to figure out what it was.

It was black, and looked, to his eyes, very modern. Little round black keys stared up at him with letters of the alphabet on them. When he punched them, they made a sound, but nothing else happened. He was puzzled. Opening up the case, he looked inside and gently pressed a key.

That made a long skinny metal bar leap up and slam against a round cylinder. Looking closely, Salmoneus noticed the outline of a letter against the dark gray rubber. One eyebrow lifted and he smiled in excitement.

He grabbed a sheet of parchment and placed it into the area where the metal bar had struck, and then jabbed at another key. This time it struck the parchment leaving a black letter "k" on the surface.

Salmoneus was dumbstruck. What an ingenious invention! Why, he could didn't have to worry about these silly pens someone had given him. He could just use this machine -- it would save time and energy.

Now, if he could just get the parchment to stay where he put it...

[ooc: sorry it took me a while to get up and going today -- work does tend to interfere. I'll be leaving work in a while and heading home, but if you want to come in and laugh at Salmoneus, feel free.]
