Everything's good tonight. I just need to go finish up the tartar sauce. Make sure there's tabasco on the tables tonight.

She spies a cardboard box full of regular-sized bottles of tobasco sauce, crouches down and pulls it off the shelf, the muscles in her arms flexing under her white dress shirt as she hefts the small box up onto the counter.

Damn, that woman can run!
He tosses his jacket behind the counter, throws on his kitchen apron, and spares a second for a grin and a wink at the lady at the counter.*
So, Shane, what do I do before there are dirty dishes to clean up?

Once that was done, she quickly wrote up the order and stuck it on a spindle beside the register. "That'll be... $13.90," she said, frowning as she fought a silent battle with the slightly rusty keys.

Paige, are you all right? There...there's something...bad going on out there. Are you okay?

If there's danger here, I...I should stay and help. *He looks over his shoulder at Shane, and at lone customer.* We should stay here. Where we know it's safe.

*She looks him straight in the eye* Please Geoff, please

She walks over to the door and watches as a pair of wings unfold from the man's back. Her eyes dart in the direction of where the man is looking and she sees long shadows cast on the street that make her blood run like ice water.
"It's starting," she whispers numbly.

Shane watches as Paige take Geoff's hand and blinks as the two of them disappear in a wink of blue light. Tell her hi for me... she thinks sadly , scrubbing a hand over her face.
Turning back to the door, Shane locks it and, resting her hands on the frame, she bows her head.

The lurching figures coming toward her on the street moved just like... the mayo crashed to the sidewalk unheeded when the flash of lightening illumined the long dead face in front of her.
"Carl!"
She dashed into the Dive, locked the door, and upended several tables, not caring about the flatware or the salt shakers.
"CARRRL!"
His reassuring voice comes from upstairs. The sawed off shotgun is still under the bar and she grabs it, hearing the steady fire of his service pistol.
She locks the doors to the upstairs, barricades it with a couple tables she's dragged in and goes up to help him out with her shotgun.
