Outside Black Books.
Manny has been out of town for a couple of days, visiting Moo-Ma and Moo-Pa. He'll be deeply grateful if he never hears another knuckle cracking, never hears "Chatanooga Choo-choo" again. As he walks through town towards the shop, he can't help but be struck by the mess. He pauses, sets down his suitcase, and looks around. He picks something up from the ground, and studies it.
Doc Martin boot, size eleven, black leather. Foot still included.
He touches a finger to the bloodied stump, and licks it experimentally.
Hmm. Male, mid-thirties. A builder. European ... British.
He tastes again.
Scotland ... Dundee? No... Arbroath... The west side, near the estuary. Possibly lived near the golf club.
He drops the limb, picks up his suitcase, and walks on. He arives at the shop, and looks with dismay at the heap of dismembered body parts piled up in front of the door.
Oh, Bernard, I leave you alone for two days, and look what happens.
He starts shifting the flesh away from the door, stacking it neatly by country of origin.
Edit: Have now gone round to the church.

"May I be of assistance, Mr. Bianco?"

Ah, Mr Phale, I'm just clearing the path. What did I miss here?

A puddle of goo sizzles and flares, leaving behind a dark stain on the sidewalk. Aziraphale frowns at the dark spot.

"Anger? It is something you'd like to talk about?"

"Mr. Bianco, I will admit that I'm...not really the best person to give advice on...romantic entanglements. Erm. Have you...spoken to the young lady about how you feel?"
He's silent for a moment, still frowning.
"You...haven't done anything rash, have you?"

I just want her to be happy with me.I've not done anything stupid ... except burn some books, up there *points to the hill* on the Stone of Clonrichert.

"I...erm...Mr. Bianco, I really would like to encourage you not to...engage in such...potentially...dangerous activities." He looks decidedly uncomfortable. "Perhaps it would be better to...talk to the other party, to work out your differences. Yes! I'm quite certain the good long talk, between friends, would be the best thing."
He looks down at the scattered bits of corpse and goo. "And perhaps you'll agree to refrain from burning any more books?"

He opens the door and puts his case inside. He looks at his watch and closes the door again, staying outside.
I should be at church by now.

"Yes, that's an excellent idea, Mr. Bianco. I'm sure I'll see around town again."
With one last smile for Manny, Aziraphale resumes his stroll down the street, the rotted corpses burning themselves away as he passes them.
