Sunday after Mass
*CJ comes out of the church and sees Tony.*
Tony, thank you for waiting.
*Smiles warmly. Her tears are gone and she feels wonderful*

Care for a bit of a stroll? Maybe we can find a coffee shop open.
*he hopes so. He is enjoying the company, and the easy way she speaks to him, with no expectations or preconceived ideas. It is a pleasant break from the fawning he usually gets.*

*Smiles*
Well, Tony. Tell me about yourself. You're more than your business, I'm sure.

Oh, the usual, ya know. Big Italian family, inheireted my father's business interests. Pretty typical, ya know. I have never been far from the East Coast, really, always lived right there. I have visited the old country a few times, sorta required in my family, ya know. But this is the first time I have lived so far from home. I feel like a kid again.
What about you? Are you from the East Coast as well? Did you always want to work for the president someday? How did that happen?
*he looks very interested, as if it had never occured to him before that someone might want to work for a president. He turns his curiosity on her, and smiles again. He has never smiled so much in one day. He is enjoying it.*

I, um, no I don't guess I'd really given any thought to working for the president until it just happened. I was part of a political group for years, we advocated for women. But then I was working in Hollywood when my friend Toby asked if I'd like to join the team. Best decision I ever made.
*While she talks she pulls the scarf off her head and pulls the clip out of her hair, letting it fall*
Isn't it a beautiful day? *Smiles*

*likes the way her hair swings free and seems to suit her fine. He tucks his hand over hers on his arm and steers them through the edge of the park. ((OK, I have no idea what the layout of the town is currently, but I am guessing we can trek through the edge of the park))
The diner seems to be open there. May I treat you to lunch? I would be happy to have your company. I don't really know anyone here yet.
*looks hopeful*

Sure, lunch sounds nice. Thanks. Most of the people I know so far are...different. I'm not used to so much of what goes on up at the school. *Sighs* It'd be nice to talk to a Jersey boy. *Smiles at him*
