Red's Open for Business
An appointment today, Red was putting his table in order, waiting for Paige. The cubs had been relegated once more to the flat and behind a closed door. He didn't want them underpaw while he was trying to work. With his head, he pushed his stool over to the table. It was a custom model, one build specifically to his design to hold his body in the right positions to ink and not rely on leaning heavily on the client while he worked.
Since it was just him in the shop that morning and the place where Paige wanted her tattoo didn't require privacy, Red pulled the shades on his shop windows so there would be some privacy without having to lock the shop up. It would keep gawkers to a minimum.
Once things were in place, he waited patiently at the counter, reading his newspaper.

Trotting around her, Red looked up and tilted his head. "Are you ready for your ink or do you need more time to think about it?"

He adjusted his stool and made sure the specially designed gloves and mask were sitting ready for him. "All of my equipment was made specifically for me to minimize contamination and bacteria transmission."
Trotting back to the counter, "But before we begin, I have the consent forms for you to fill out and sign, if it's not too much trouble."

So are we ready to start then? *she looks around* Are the cubs not here? I thought maybe they'd take my mind off the pain *she smiles at Red* not that I'm worried about the pain!

He was up the stairs and not a few moments later, what sounded like a herd of them tumbled down the stairs and spilled into the shop, all fur and red and noise.
Trotting back over to her, he motioned with a nod of his head to a chair. "Sit facing the chair back and pull your hair to one side. It'll put you leaning forward so I can get good light."

*She sits down and moves her hair over her left shoulder* Ok I'm ready

It took a few minutes for Red get geared up and sterilized before he prepped Paige's skin. "This shouldn't take too long although it will take me a bit longer due to no opposable thumbs. But I have a soft touch," he said, his voice muffled beneath the surgical mask.
His gloved paw rested on her back. "Was this where you wanted the design?"

The cubs bounded around the shop, pouncing on toys and each other but the moment the buzzy noises started, they knew to keep clear of Red's work area, an imaginary line they knew not to cross.
Red was noticably silent during the process. He was normally a chatty fellow but with the gun held in his mouth it, naturally, tended to keep him quiet.
Once he completed the outline and he needed to change colors, his paw rested lower on Paige's back. "How are you doing?"

*She turned her head slightly to look at Red and smiled* Yeah I'm ok, watching your cubs is helping definitely helping distract me

[OOC: I just broke my imagination with the thought of Red's snout, covered by a surgical mask and just his eye showing. *laugh*]

(ooc- luckily since coming to the school Paige isn't really surprised by anything, I mean she's going out with a 14th Century poet and saw a man come suddenly arrive in a blue phone box)

Other things caught their attention when the machine came on again and they pranced away, practicing their deadly hunter pouncing skills.
Nodding, Red went back to it. Ink, blot, ink, blot. The rest went much faster.
After an hour, Red shut the machine down. "Let me cover it and you're good to go."
He took a few minutes to cover Paige's tattoo, his paws patting on the tape around the area to make sure it stayed secured and he leapt down from his chair, gnawing at his gloved paws to get them off.
His mask hung just below his chin, one tie hooked over an ear. "Make sure to follow the instructions I gave you and come back in in about a week and let me check on it."

When the stool was moved, that was the cue for the cubs to bound over the imaginary line and step all over Paige's feet to get closer, hoping she had something else for them to play with.

*She gets the money out and puts it on the counter* I guess I should get going. Thanks for the tattoo Red, I'll stop by for a visit in the week.
