Phale's Bookshop - Open for business

Marty opens up Phale's bookstore to see whatever friendly force lives here has already tidied the bookstore again. Also the Tim Horton's coffee (which magically replaces itself every 20 minutes) is still there. But along with the muffins there is now a display of twinkies.

Twinkies. Huh. Whatever.

Marty looks over the desk and smiles.

"Hi Professor Cregg. Phale's out of town, but I'm looking after the shop while he's gone. Can I help you find something? Killer job on Ronny Jordan last night."

[Smiles broadly] Thanks! No, no help. I thought I saw him wave at me...must have been you?

"That was me." Marty nods to the coffee, muffins and twinkies.

"Need a sugar/caffiene boost?"

Running...[wipes her forehead with the back of her hand]...got water?

...Parker heads into town. She's still trying to think of what to say to Rob Gordon.

Seeing Marty inside the shop makes her flinch, but also reminds her that she needs to talk to him anyway.

She goes in the door, and examines the muffins, looking around.

Marty looks up from the inventory sheet and looks at Parker.

"Parker? What are you doing in a bookstore? I though you had Broots do all your work for you."

Parker sneers half-heartedly. "I'm capable of wanting to read a book for fun, you know. And I wouldn't trust Broots to pick out one that wasn't a computer manual." She grimaces. "But I'm really here to talk to you. About things we have in common. As in a dislike for a certain JA leader."

Marty's easygoing demeanor suddenly goes a cold. He nods.

"Yeah... he's not exactly on my list of favorite people to hang around with. I got your message and I'm not sure I have much information to tell you."

By the time Angela has managed to wake up, get dressed, dispose of most of the roses, and leave the dorms, it's midafternoon.

She makes a beeline to Phale's bookstore, wanting to follow up on Marty's phone message.

Marty looks up and smiles as Angela walks into the bookstore. He steps out from behind the counter and gives her a hug and kiss.

"Hey you. Sorry I couldn't help clean up the flowers. Sydney wasn't too upset was she?"

Angela returns his kiss, then shakes her head. "Syd was fine with it. Or at least, she didn't leave me a message complaining -- I haven't seen her. She's such a sweetie."

She stalls, not wanting to jump into the whole Angelus thing just yet.

Marty smiles. "Haven't sold a darn thing. Though I don't think Phale is really worried about making any money. Plus you need a degree in Latin just to read his inventory system. What about you? Do anything fun?"

Xander, responding somewhat late in the day (after sleeping in post-Homecoming) to a mysterious e-mail, steps into the shop, eyes and smile widening at the Twinkies on display.

[ooc - slow-time is absolutely fine with me; hell, it's my preferred method of play given my habitual lack of response speed, though I do understand why it can be a problem gamewide when it happens a lot and all over the place, and the mods get concerned. I only run the one character, and he interacts so very little (so far anyway, due to my own unavailability issues) that I can't see it interfering with other plots or fouling anybody else up, though.]
