Saturday Evening

It was a good day. She'd gone for a run, made friends with Han after he'd been so blunt with her at the dance, talked to Marty about politics (and impressed him a bit), and come back home and taken a shower. She needed to run back to her apartment and start packing up her things. She'd decided she'd leave any furniture the future tenant wanted...or she'd move it to the TARDIS storerooms...if that was ok with Ten.

She headed across the park to her old apartment.

Elizabeth was walking through the park with Sedge, when she noticed a familiar figure.

"Evening, Professor," she calls.

*steps in beside her teacher* So, did you enjoy the Homecoming dance?

Yeah. I went with a couple of friends, so it was nice to hang out with them. Although Parker was behaving odd all evening... did you notice her at all?

She talked to me a bit. She seemed like she was having a good time. [furrows her brows] Now that you mention it, she did seem awfully...happy.

*snickers slightly* Parker was definitely too perky for her own good. That girl doesn't seem to do happy. She's back to normal today, and good lord, I'm thankful for it!

She was. I was a bit suspicious when she leant me jewelry, and then the bouncing and the smiling thoughout the evening was just far too scary. And believe me, I know scary, damnit! I've faced the Goa'uld, the Wraith, Republicans...

No, as I said last night, you were awesome! I will admit that it's not something that I would have expected from you, no offense, having seen you as press secretary and now as a teacher, but it was great.

Nowhere really... just walking the dog, and getting some fresh air. After spending two weeks in bed, it seemed like a good plan.*whistles and Sedge comes bounding up to them*

Paige sits on a bench over looking the pond, she's still wearing the rose Geoff gave her the night before, she smiles as she sees CJ

A blonde girl approaches Paige, looking shyly through a curtain of hair. "Hi. Um, I'm new in town. Do you mind if I join you?"

Paige smiles, "sure, I'm Paige." she offers her hand

"Tara", she smiles, clasping Paige's hand gently. "I'm, uh, teaching philosophy up at the school. Or, going to be. Not now, obviously, because I'm here." She blushes.

Paige smiles, "that sounds cool, I'm trying not to take too many classes, but I might enroll, ir sound's like something that might be pretty handy."

"I'd be happy to have you!" Tara smiles broadly as she takes a seat on the bench. "I've been having this nightmare where I lecture to an empty classroom. But really, I think it's something everyone ought to do. I'm not trying to convince anyone of my way of thinking - it's more challenging everyone to think about their own ethics and values."

Paige smiles, "well if it doesn't clash with any of my lessons I'll be there, I'd like to think I have pretty strong values, I'm kinda worried about taking too many classes though, I guess I can drop some though." She looks at Tara smiling, "if it means I have time for your class, do you have any idea when it'll be? There's this whole cronofluidity happening with most of my classes, which I think means i'm free a lot."

She blushes, "I'm rambling aren't I?"

"A little," Tara nods, "but it's okay. Kinda comforting, actually. It reminds me of an... old friend."

I've got two courses. Ethics is Monday (that's more personal exploration), and a more history-based course is running Thursdays. But yeah, they're chronofluid on those days."

Paige smiles, "ethics sounds good, I'm pretty sure I don't have any other lessons on mondays, so yeah consider me enroled!."

She looks out to the pond for a moment looking upset

Paige sighs, "It's kinda pathetic, my boyfriend had to go away, he came back for homecoming last night, but well he's gone again. I've just moved into his place and I miss him."

She bites her lip, "I know he's coming back, I just don't know when and we've been together pretty much everynight.It's just weird not having him here with me."

"That's not pathetic. You've just moved in together, and he's away. So you're in his environment, and everything's unfamiliar, and he's not there. How can you make the space yours - I mean, both of yours - if he's not there?

You know how when you put down a load and rest for a while, it feels heavier when you pick it up? It's like that. He came back for a night, and now you're feeling his being away more than ever."
