Her professionalism returns quickly. After all, she's seen a great many good looking men come and go through the Liberty Diner.
"Take a seat anywhere. We're always slow when we open. What can I get you to drink tonight?"

Deb grabs the orange-handled carafe off the hotplate and fills the thick-walled white mug. Her hands are shaking a little and she chides herself for being a silly schoolgirl over a charming man. But he is very handsome and very charming. A couple deep breaths have her ready to deal again.
She sets the cup on the table and the creamer bowl beside it. "One decaf. What can I get you to eat?"

She laughs at the question. "Of course not. That just means it's chocolate and mint, you know, like the drink. But the pie is guaranteed nonalcoholic."
She smiles. "Can I get you something to drink?"

Paige suddenly realises she's said what she'd only ever thought about before, "he's dead isn't he? Strictly speaking I mean"
