At Black Books, Tuesday
Black Books is open for business as usual. Manny is working his way round the shelves with a feather duster at the end of a curiously long handle. He's wearing a little white apron, which matches his shirt. He's singing something under his breath.
Bernard is nowhere to be seen.

He pops through to the kitchen and returns with another, smaller, duster. He holds them up. One handle is about eight feet long, one is about a foot and a half.
Ummm ... top or bottom?
He smiles nervously.

Manny, do you not have any Chaucer?

... We don't. Sorry. They went.
He feels guilty.

He's relieved.
He starts dusting again.
Do you think I should try writing?

*she gestures to the bboks*

I won't have to look far for my inspiration, no.
He's smiling to himself too, now.

*she goes over to him and hands him the duster* See you soon Manny
