Town, Saturday Early Afternoon

Geoff walks down the main street of Fandom Town, a pack slung over one shoulder and a grin on his face. He whistles to himself occasionally, and looks as if he's glad to be home.

Angela has gone into town to get a smoothie at the Perkolator, and Geoff almost gets covered with strawberry-banana goodness as she narrowly avoids bumping into him.

"Geoff, hi! I didn't know you were back today!"

"Angela!" Geoff sweeps her up into a hug and plants a chaste kiss on her lips. "I just got back. How are you? How is Marty?"

Angela hugs him back and hopes Marty never hears about the kiss. Or Paige.

"I'm good," she says, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Not too much going on. Marty is ... also good, but he went back to Michigan for the weekend. Oh, he got elected to the security position."

"How was 14th century London? And have you found Paige yet? I know she's dying to see you."

"Good for him! Give him my regards when he gets back. The two of you will have to come by the shop for a victory celebration." Geoff drops the pack and leans against a convenient lamppost, still grinning.

"I haven't seen Paige yet, but I just walked into town. I'm on my way to the shop to see if she's there. London was...well, London. The usual intrigue at court. Luckily nothing that could keep me away too long."

He pauses for a moment, looking a little more serious. "How has Paige been?"

Angela smiles, though the smile is darkened when Geoff mentions Paige. They haven't talked much lately, but Angela knows her friend isn't doing well.

"I've never been to London, even in this century," she says, a little jealous. "But it sounds like your trip was okay. And I'll pass your message for Marty along."

She sighs. "I think Paige ... she really missed you, Geoff. I don't know what happened, but I've seen her around campus and she didn't seem happy."

The grin completely disappears and Geoff looks worried. "I'll talk to her as soon as I can find her, then." He shakes his head. "I shouldn't have left so suddenly. Or I should have taken her with me."

He smiles at Angela, and changes the subject. "I'll be happy to tell you about London, sometime, if you like. It is an amazing city, although I have no idea what it's like now."

[Walking with two cups in her hands, she spies Geoff. She raises one cup, not really capable of waving, and smiles warmly.]

Geoff! You're back! How was London?

Geoff waves back and grins warmly. "CJ! London was as it always is. How have you been?"

Magnificent. Well, honestly I've been better...but overall I can't complain. Love does that.

[Her smile fades] He's good. He'll be...he's fine.

Shane is sitting on the park bench by the pond. For a Saturday, it's pretty quiet, but she doesn't mind. Seeing some movement up ahead and a good distance away, Shane looks up. Squinting slightly, she can make out the tall and familiar figure dressed in those impossible clothes and suddenly she's smiling so widely her face already hurts.

"Geoff!" She hops up off of the bench and jogs across the park to catch up.

Geoff turns at the shout, dropping his pack to ground and opening his arms when he spies Shane. Catching her in a tight hug, he plants a kiss on her and grins. "My lady Shane!"

Hanging on as tightly as she can, Shane buries her face in his coat. "Geoff... god, I missed you, man," she whispers.

"Missed you too, Shane. Anything interesting happen while I was gone?" He holds her tightly and kisses the top of her head. "Everythings all right, isn't it?"

"With me? Yeah, everything's fine," Shane says. She should probably let go, she knows that, but... she just can't. It's Geoff and he's here again and it's good.
