Geoff wanders into the store early Saturday evening. He's wearing pants, shoes, and his coat, but no shirt. He stands in the middle of the shop and looks around, smiling when his glance lands on Michael.

Hi there. What can I do for you?

Walking up to him, Geoff replies, "Well, I'm kind of in need of shirts." He grins a little sheepishly. "And this is the first I've been in, so I'm curious to see what you have."

We've got a decent selection of everything from t-shirts to dress shirts. Mostly newer styles, if you're looking for something more vintage, you should check out Deb's collection. *smiles* Normally I don't point people to other stores, but she's my mother.

((ooc: I took over Michael a couple of weeks ago, I have no idea if he's met Geoff or if he'd recognize him.))

"I'll be honest, I know nothing about the clothing people wear these days. I'm sure Paige will want to make me something, but I really need a couple of things to wear right away." He grins and holds out his hand. "Geoff Chaucer. I know Deb, I work for her a bit -- although I've been away for a while. I didn't know she had a son, but I'm very pleased to meet you."

[OOC: Nope, they haven't met at all. This is the first time they've even been in the same room together, I think. Geoff's mun has been away for two weeks, so Geoff himself has only just returned today. :)]

*shakes Geoff's hand*

Ah, so you're the infamous Geoff. Paige stops in here quite a bit -- I should have recognized you from the homecoming picture she showed off. Pleasure to meet you.

((Mikey's mun totally forgot Paige showed him the homecoming picture. He'd insisted she bring it in because he'd aquired the dress for her. *headdesk*))

"I haven't even seen the homecoming picture myself. Paige was beautiful that night, though, so I'm certain it's an excellent picture." He looks over the shirt choices, frowning a bit, and picks up a tie. "Um, what is this for?"

[OOC: Paige got the dress from Michael? Geoff finds that out, and Michael will become his favorite person. :)]

Paige ordered the dress through the store here, so I insisted that I should at least get a chance to see it. You two make a beautiful couple.

*takes tie and puts it around his neck, fumbling with trying to make a knot* It's a tie, for more formal occasions. See, this part goes under the shirt collar, and this part hangs down in front... *looks down at the tie, makes a face* They're very popular, although most men complain about wearing them. I'm not sure that you'd really need one around here.

((Would that be tied around Geoff's neck or Michael's own neck?))

Geoff gives the tie an odd look. "It looks like a noose. I think I'll pass, if you don't mind. No one has made any fuss about my not wearing ties yet."

He looks at Michael. "Paige bought her dress here?" Grinning widely, he squeezes Michael's shoulder. "She didn't tell me that. I believe I owe you some thanks, then."

((Michael's neck. Sorry about that.))

Yeah, it kinda feels like a noose too. I can't blame ya for passing on it.

*shrugs* Paige picked out the dress, I just helped her get it. She was really hoping you'd like it; I'm glad you did. And she's missed you a lot, so it's good you're back in town.

"I've missed her alot too." Geoff grins. "She's sleeping right now, so I'm shopping."

He picks up a couple of the shirts, one bright red and one rather obnoxiously patterned. "These, maybe? What do you think?"

Hmm. *scratches head, trying to figure out how to say it nicely* The red one is okay, I guess, the other one...is a little over-the-top. I think that blue-and-white striped one over there would be better.

*decides he needs to go through the shirt racks and make a few of them into rags rather than have ~~not fashion conscious~~ unsuspecting customers actually buy them*

Geoff looks at the two shirts, obviously trying to figure out what's wrong with the patterned one. He puts it back and picks up the striped shirt that Michael pointed out. "I'll accept your advice. As I said, I have no idea what people are wearing these days."

He looks around the store. "What else do you sell? I have an idea that I ought to come back with something for Paige, seeing as I left her alone for two weeks."

We have a full grocery section, drug store items, hardware... *wonders if any of that means anything to someone from several centuries back*

We have perfume, which makes a nice gift. So does chocolate. *gives a suggestive look* Ice cream and whipped cream are fun for sharing with your special someone.

Geoff nods at Michael's list, but doesn't really hear anything that intrigues him at first. He does perk up at the mention of perfume, though.

"Perfume! Paige would love that, I'm certain." He pauses. "Whipped cream I understand, but... ice cream? Creamed ice? Cream with ice? And how would that be fun?" He makes a face, trying to imagine how cream with ice in it could possibly be something to share or enjoy.

*tries to think of how to explain ice cream, realizes he's not even sure how it's made* Ice cream isn't ice, it's...well, it's flavored creamy sweet stuff that's frozen. Might be an aquired taste for someone who's never had it, though. *decides definitely not to try to explain how it might be fun*

We've got quite a few different types of perfume. I'm not very familiar with them, but the tester bottles are all out there so you can figure out what they smell like.

Geoff checks out the various testers until he finds one he likes. "This one, I think. It smells of flowers. And some ice cream as well. It sounds like something Paige might like. How much do I owe you?"

*Checks the label on the perfume, then picks out some chocolate chip ice cream, so as not to confuse Geoff with more choices*

That'll be $22.56. *wraps perfume container and puts it in a bag with the ice cream*

Geoff pulls a small leather bag from his belt and pours a few coins from it into his hand. "Ah, I haven't had time to see the money-changer. Can you take these?" He holds out his hand, showing Michael several gold coins minted with the bust of Edward III.

Um... *furrows brow, not quite certain what he's looking at other than it's supposed to be money* Here, we'll just put it on your tab. You can come back later when you've had a chance to exchange your coins. *scribbles out a receipt and makes a note to himself regarding the tab*

((ooc: omg you are so funny...I'm dying between the ice cream thing and this. :P))

Nodding, Geoff returns the coins to the pouch and puts it away. "Thank you! I'll come by as soon as I get it changed. What sort of currency do you prefer?"

[OOC: Thanks! Clueless!Geoff is so much fun to play. Keep an eye out for the post when Geoff shows back up at the shop with the ice cream and tells Paige what Michael said about it. *grin*]

Um, mostly I've seen American currency around here. That's what we charge by, anyway. I'm sure Paige can help you with that.

"American currency it is, then. I'll ask Paige what she thinks would be best." He picks up the packages and holds out his hand. "Again, it was a pleasure meeting you. And thank you for your help."

*returns handshake*

It was great to finally meet you. Tell Paige I said hi.

"Thank you, I'll do that. Give my regards to your mother as well, and tell her I promise to be by later."

Geoff smiles as he heads out the door. "And you as well, friend."

((Well she's had him handcuffed to the bed so the ice cream shouldn't freak him out too much, but thank you for making him buy it! ;D))

::wanders in, blood still dripping from his forehead, a slightly crazed look in his eyes::

Cap'n Crunch? I'll take as Twenty boxes. I need me some sugar.

::looks wildly back and forth::

Uh, okay... *starts gathering up some boxes* Are you all right? You're, um, bleeding a little there.

::reaches up and touches his forehead::

Huh. Didn't even notice. ::shrugs::

Just gotta get the old blood sugar up, that's all. Kinda tired, for some reason, and I gotta be up for the big radio broadcast, and all.

I should be just fine.

Okay, if you say so. *rings up the purchase* That'll be $30. *puts as many boxes as will fit in each bag* Are you going to be able to carry all this?

I'll just have to load up like a camel, won't I?

::pulls out his wallet, and throws out exact change::
