Jaw set, Spike went to see to Drusilla, consciously letting go of his irritation on the way. "Hullo, love." He stopped to look at her thoughtfully before sinking to his heels beside her seat. "You don't seem to be your usual, shining self."
"That's what I like to hear! All right, first of all, you have any containers in here that can withstand an acid level 11? Can’t have the drink if you can’t mix it up."
Lilah watched the proceedings (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/188164.html?thread=6565124#t6565124") with interest as she entered the bar and climbed up onto one of the bar stools.
She looked around the place approvingly. Apparently this dimension's Spike had done well for himself.
Lilah took a business card out of her pocket and slid it across the bar to him. "Lilah Morgan, Wolfram and Hart. Nice place you've got here, William. Free word of advice from someone who knows? If you want to keep it? Stay out from between the Slayer's legs."
She grinned. "And I'll take a Black and Tan, if you can do it right."
Ducking her head into the bar, Tara was overjoyed to finally see Spike there, after nearly a week of checking and finding him missing. "Spike!" she cried, running towards him with arms outstretched, with every intention of giving him a hug.
Spike gave her a mildly panicked look, throwing out his arms to fend her off. "Hey, hey, hold on there, girl." He looked at her searchingly, memory nagging at him. "You're... who?"
"Oh," Tara said sadly, dropping her arms. "You're from before that. Um, I'm Tara? We were friends, back in Sunnydale, and I heard that you died this morning, and I've just missed you so much..."
Out on their nightly ride, the three brothers pulled up in front of Spike's. It looked like it was busy tonight. If Kadaj remembered right, Paige would be working and for a moment he thought about the wisdom of putting her and Loz in the same room right after their incident in the park. At least until Kadaj realized that a) Loz is a big boy and was more than capable of taking care of himself and b) Kadaj really didn't care about Paige but he didn't want to bust up Spike's pub again if another fight broke out.
They stopped anyway and pushed in through the front door to take in the crowd before slipping around to grab a table in the corner.
Leaving Yazoo and Loz at the table, Kadaj wove through the tables. He headed toward the bar, the far end so they could talk in relative privacy and not worry about any of the patrons at the bar over hearing.
He was surprised that Paige wasn't here but didn't let that show on his face. Kadaj and his brothers were prepared to work if they were needed.
*Michael sits down at a table at the pub, eyeing the clientele. After Paige's spell (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/187347.html?thread=6551507#t6551507), his whole demeanor had changed (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/187347.html?thread=6552275#t6552275). Now he was on the prowl for some old-fashioned fun. His old buddy Brian would have been proud.*
Yazoo sees the man from the store sitting in the pub just a few tables away. Something different about him, about the way he carried himself, the way he looked around and Yazoo tilted his head wondering what it was that was off.
Punching Loz in the arm to wait for Kadaj, Yazoo gets up and strolls over to the table. "Hey," he said quietly. "Aren't you a bit out of place here?"
"Good sentient beings of this drinking establishment! After weeks without satisfaction, this bar is finally stocked with the proper supplies for Pan Galactic Garble blasters, compliments of yours truly. As it is widely recognized as the best drink in the known universe, I highly recommend you try give it a go. All rounds on me!"
Zaphod pauses and recalls an unpleasant incident back on the eastern rim of the galaxy.
"Just to clarify, I mean I will pay. Do not throw any Blasters literally on me, as they tend to burn skin. Not cool folks, not cool at all."
