Red's Open

Today, anyone passing by the shop can see Red busily fussing over his counter. He has applications and forms all scattered in front of him as he tries to bring some sort of order from the chaos. The cubs are close by, enjoying a variety of chew toys and balls scattered around them in one corner.

Still open for business, clients or friendly visits will need to catch his attention though.

Unless the cubs see them first. Shoelace safety is not guaranteed.

Duce comes in to work, glancing at the counter in amusement before kneeling to torment the babies. "Red.. what the hell is all that?"

Grabbing Pollux gently, she flips him onto his back and sends him in a puppy-bowling slide at his brother.

Red heard his name and looked up absently. "Duce...yes...all this paperwork. I wasn't aware that your governments required so much...paperwork," he trailed off as shuffled some of the papers around.

Pollux loves the bowling game and races for Duce again.

Duce grins at Pollux and sends him spinning at his brother again. Castor darts in from the side, pouncing on Pollux and tussling with him, sticking a wet nose in his brother's ear.

"Taxes?" Duce asks with sympathy, "Or something else? Want some help with it? We won't be any good at all when it comes to math, but if it's just figuring stuff out.. "

"Town business," he said, looking over an application. "I've got building permits and estimates, applications...here...here...four versions of the town map that I need to get resolved. I might have to call in a surveyor to come in and do that part..."

Red sighed and put his head on the counter. "It's not particularly difficult but it is confusing until I can get everything caught up." He grinned at her. "Thanks for the offer."

Castor clamoring for attention, Duce switches off on the puppies, sending him in a spinning slide across the floor for Pollux to chase.

Nodding, but confused. "There's more .. stuff.. coming? Seems like we can't turn around before shops are opening or closing around here."

Her attention back on the babies as Castor comes barrelling back, she sends him spinning again, this time grabbing a jingle-ball to join him. "Hey Red.. are they gonna start talking anytime soon? They obviously understand us when we talk to them, so should we start curbing our speech?"

Red tilted his head and watched the antics of the cubs. "I don't know. I never thought to ask Bugenhagen how old I was when I started talking." His brow furrowed. "And what do you mean by curbing our speech?"

As promised, Oz went by the shop to spend time with the cubs since he was going to be looking after him tomorrow. He'd be happy to lend his thumbs to any task Red needed done, though the cubs were his priority for the afternoon.

Red flicked his tail at Oz when he came in and went back to the mounds of paperwork that was starting to spill off the counter.

'Red's', this is what she's looking for. Tex pushes open the door and the heavy armour makes a loud clunking noise on the floor. She takes in her surroundings before moving towards the counter. The feline behind it looks impressive and she watches him work for a moment as she's unfamiliar with his species.

His ears picked up the unnatural sounds before he saw her...him...it...

Watching as the big metal thingamajig walked into his store, Red couldn't quite hold in his surprise. "Well...this is unexpected," he said with a quirky grin. This town was filled with all kinds of wild things so he just rolled with the punches.

"Mmm. Hello? How can I help you?" Unsure if he really could.

She was surprised to find that the feline actually spoke English, not that her surprise showed with her armour on. "You're Red?"

Red nodded. "I am." So the thingamajig talked. He wondered if there was a person inside of it and he peered closely.

"I'm Tex," she replied, realising that he was studying her just as much as she was studying him. "I contacted you about setting up trade in your town?"

Looking a little rough around the edges but no more so than would be usual for her, Shane steps into Red's shop and notices the pile of papers. "Hey" Shane says, smiling as she steps up to the counter. "Are you really busy? I can go..."

"NO!" he said a little to frantically. "Save me from drowning in red tape. One time red is distinctly not the favored color."

Shane chuckled. "Okay, what can I do?" She asked, holding her hands out as she looked down at the papers.

"Tell me it was a good idea to become mayor?" Red said with an exaggerated sigh.

*Michael enters the store and, noticing Red's busy with paperwork, quietly goes over to look at the jewelry. He needs something nice, but meaningful. Something to give to Ben, after yesterday's incident.*

Red looked up when he saw movement out of the corner of his eye and grinned when he saw it was Michael from the Emporium. "Michael!" he said pleasantly. "What can I do for you today?"

"Hm." Red screwed his expression tight as he thought. "What kind of jewelry does he normally wear?"

Not much, actually -- aside from his wedding ring. *flashes his matching one for an example* I was thinking a necklace, maybe, he could hide it under his shirt if he wanted. He's really into Tibet and Buddhism, if maybe you've got something with those influences?
