The Emporium is open -- Thursday

Michael doesn't look cheerful as he opens the store. Ben had slipped out of the house before Michael woke up, leaving for Hunter's home in Pittsburgh. While the anger between them had dissipated, and they had spent the night curled up together, things still weren't set right. Michael had hope, though. Ben had taken the mala beads and om pendant with him, and Michael hopes that means that Ben doesn't want to forget him.

Sitting down with a cup of coffee, Michael logs on to play Cubis until customers begin arriving.

The brothers rode up, bikes rumbling low. All three got off this time, entering the store and spreading out. They all had their things to get complete with hastily scribbled lists.

Loz went to the counter and leaned on it, watching Michael openly.

Michael's stomach turned. This was the encounter he'd been dreading. Not so much the brothers, although they were scary enough themselves -- but seeing Yazoo again, now that the spell had worn off. Loz was watching him, and he returned the gaze with a nod, trying not to look as terrified as he actually was.

Smiling a knowing smile, Loz nodded. "Good." He put the list on the counter between them and tapped it. "These will have to be ordered."

Still with a cheeky grin, Loz slapped down 4 $100 dollar bills. "Pay now. They'll handle the rest."

Leaning, Loz stayed put while Yazoo and Kadaj circled the store grabbing things they needed.

More candles, canned goods, a can opener, a bag of tootsie rolls for Kadaj, Yazoo walked up to the counter and let his armload roll across the top of it. Mimicking his brother's posture to Michael's other side, he tilted his head over and leaned in closer to look at him with a wickedly sultry smile. "Hey."

*takes bills from Loz and returns the change, along with a receipt for the merchandise* Looks like their ordering service is backed up. Stuff won't be in til Monday.

*watches Yazoo approach, stomach churning. Leans away as Yazoo leans in*

Aziraphale walks into the store and straight up to Michael. Unlike the last time he was in, he seems less uncertain and flustered and more...down-to-business.

He gives Michael a smile and says simply, "Please give me your hand, Michael."

My hand? *quirks an eyebrow and smiles, and adds jokingly* I'm already married, sir, but... *another smile and holds out his hand* What is this for, anyway?

Aziraphale smiles enigmatically and takes Michael's hand. For a split second, all Michael can see is a warm, white glow. When it recedes, Aziraphale is still smiling at him, but he gives Michael a satisfied nod. "Thank you."

His eyes widen and Aziraphale lets go of Michael's hand. "Not at all, dear boy, you needn't worry about that. I was checking to make certain you weren't under any spells. Or at least, not any more."

After class, Shane steps into the Emporium to meet up with Angela. Reaching into the breast pocket of her blazer, she pulls out her cellphone and checks the LCD to see if she has any messages. Seeing no notifications of new messages, she stuffs her phone back into her pocket and smiles as she approaches the counter.

"Hey, Mike," she murmurs.

"Nothin' much," Shane replies, looking more than a little worn down herself. "Are you doing all right?"

*sighs and shrugs* Could be worse, could be better. Ben took off this morning to go visit Hunter...and clear his head, I think. It's still a little tense between us. How about you? You look as tired as I feel.

"Thanks, Mike," Shane says, offering him a weak and rueful smile. "I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the thing at your place last night -- I remembered I had work. I didn't get a chance to call and tell you."

S'okay. Maybe next time, huh? We had a nice little crowd, got to know people a little better. And whatever Tara said to Ben that made him not so angry with me, I'm grateful for.

Angela enters the Emporium and is delighted to see Shane already there. "Hey, Shane. Have you found anythinggood for Rory?"

"Hey!" Shane says, smiling as she turns from the counter to greet Angela. "No, I just got here a minute ago. I just thought I'd catch up with Michael while I waited for you."

Angela nods. "That's cool. I haven't met Michael before -- he's the owner, right?"

"Yeah," Shane nods, still smiling. "He's Deb's son. I can introduce you guys, unless you're in a hurry...?"

"Nope. I told Geoff I'd stop by later so we could cook dinner, but it sounds like he'll be around all night." She laughs, a little self-conscious. "Kind of a meeting of the lonely hearts club, I guess."
