Spike's Pub - Friday Oct 21 - 5 pm

Getting to the pub had been something of an adventure, as Spike's new toy not only protected him from the sun, it shielded out all light and he'd been reduced to wandering slowly and carefully down the sidewalk and occasionally bumping into things. Slightly irritable, making a note to take care of the last little bits of uncertainty as to his new sleeping arrangements, he managed to get the door open and inside the pub.

Shutting off the globe of darkness, Spike busied himself setting up for the night's business. The brothers had cleaned up all traces of Wednesday night's mess, and after checking the stock and making sure there was food made up, he opened the pub for business.

After her Journalism class, George takes care of some homework and newspaper-related items before heading to Spike's. She pushes the door open and heads directly for the bar.

"Um, Mr.... Spike, is it? I was wondering if you could kindly answer a few questions for me concerning the events that occured last Wednesday evening."

Spike raised both eyebrows and leaned against the bar. "Depends. Who're you and why d'you want to know?"

She takes the cap off her pen and makes a few notes on a spiral-bound notebook in her arms. "I'm one of the students who found themselves batshit crazy that night." she replies tersely without looking up from her notes. "And I'm on the newspaper staff."

"I seeeeee," Spike drew the word out and tipped his head for a moment, giving her a measuring look. He wouldn't be able to rat Angelus out, much as he'd love to. While the older vampire might have kicked him in the balls the other night, so to speak, Drusilla wouldn't be at all pleased if he got her precious 'daddikins' in the soup. "All right. I heard and saw a few things. What sort of questions have you got for me, girl?"

George makes herself comfortable on a bar stool, keeping her notes angled away from Spike so he couldn't pry without being obvious. "Mostly I was hoping you could fill in the missing pieces. How well do you know those two asshats, Jay and Silent Bob?"

Down to only a few flyers, Red decided to take a swing through Spike's Pub. He hadn't had a chance to come back since his first visit here. He raced in the door when someone in front of him went in and Red looked around to get his bearings.

The place looked like it had been recently renovated. Which supported what he had heard. Trotting up to the bar, he leapt into a seat to wait for Spike's attention.

Spike blinked a few times, but adjusted well. "I don't suppose you'll be wanting a mug of anything," he offered, examining the red, furry creature sitting on the bar stool. "Something with a straw?"

Grinning, Red nodded. "Grenadine and coke, with a cherry." As an afterthought he said, "And a bendy straw if you have one."

Slightly bemused, Spike put together the requested drink, complete with bendy straw, and placed it in front of his strange customer. "Anything else I can get you, mate?"

Red took a sip and closed his eye to enjoy the sweet taste. He shook his head at Spike's question and pulled himself out of his sweetness bliss to give him one of the flyers. "I don't know if you saw these up in town but I'm holding a town meeting for the business owners and residents, if you would like to stop by."

Tara peeks in, happy to see Spike and taking a seat. "Missed you last night. Everything okay?"

"No, everything is most definitely not okay," Spike told her, waving a glass in her direction with unnecessary vehemence. "Between having the mayor of the bleeding town tell me off for the fact that I can't keep order in my own establishment and Angelus egging on various troublemakers, it's a wonder anyone comes in here at all."

"What happened?" Tara looks deeply concerned. "Was there a fight?"

Spike put down the glass and sighed. "D'you want something to drink? This might take a little explanation."

Tara nods, but asks with a wry grin, "shouldn't I be asking that of you? Or have you got 'supplies' worked out?"

Janet, Liz, and Sam walked in the door and took a table in the corner.

Sam looked around. "I like it. Not too nightclubby."

"Yeah, I agree," Elizabeth smiled.

"You mean we could have a quiet night for once?" asked Janet, laughing. "Are we allowed?"

"I think we deserve one after our day," Elizabeth said with a wry grin.

"We do!" exclaimed Janet. "Absolutely." She hugged Liz.

"Oh, wouldn't that be nice?" Sam sighed. "Like we used to...okay, we never used to, but like we meant to?"

Janet laughed. "How is it we never got around to it?" she asked. Then she shook her head. "Never mind. We never got around to a lot of things."

"Ladies?" Spike appeared beside the table, smiling politely if a bit tiredly. "Can I bring you something from the bar?"
