Cameron shows up at 11:45 for his shift, selling tickets.

Mark looks up from the copy of Entertainment Weekly he has cleverly concealed inside a battered edition of Pauline Kael's "Deeper Into Movies."

"Hey Cameron, man. How are things going with you?"

"Still in one piece," Cameron says with a quick smile. "You?"

Mark looks down at himself. "Also in one piece," he says. "We had a goodf crowd last night, so I'm happy."

"Did you ever get to have that picnic?"

"That's good, I hope it gets busy again." Cameron smiles. "Yeah, but we ended up going to Serenity Cove instead. I should bring her here one weekend, she seems to like the movies."

Wallace is right on time today, looking well-rested for a change.

"Hi Wallace. What's up?"

"Not much - school and stuff. Joined the Hockey Club this week. How was your trip?"

"Pretty good, though it's a little weird to be a visitor back in New York -- I lived there almost all my life. But I saw my mom, so she was happy.

"Yeah, Moms live to see their 'little boys,' no matter how old they get. New York seems like such a cool place - I've never been there."

"It's awesome. More creative people then anywhere..." Mark shakes his head. "You just need to dodge the yuppies. It's only about six hours' drive, you should go some weekend.

Where are you from?"

Thrilled he was able to (hopefully) cheer Michael up, at least for a couple of hours, Chihaya jogged up to the ticket window and plunked down his money. "Two tickets please! For the 1:00 showing!"

*playfully bumps Chihaya out of the way and smiles* "It's on me."

"No!" Chihaya bats at Michael and bumps him back. "I invited, it's my treat."

I'll buy the popcorn and stuff then. Deal?

"Deal!" Chihaya wiggles back in front of him and gets their tickets for the movie. "I love Wallace and Gromit. Kagetsuya even bought me the set of three animations for my birthday a few years back."

((ooc: if no employee comes along, we'll just mod right on through getting the tickets and snackies?))

I don't think I've ever seen Wallace and Gromit. I'm more into action/adventure stuff. But if you like it, it must be good. *smiles*

*points to sign* Free candy with popcorn. Cool! What would you like, Chihaya?

"Wallace and Gromit is very cute and silly. It's all claymation. It's won awards for film shorts." He takes the tickets and walks inside the theatre.

Looking over his choices, he points to an orange sack. "I like Reese's Pieces. Well, anything sweet really but if I get a choice!"

Okay. Popcorn, Reese's Pieces, and...I'm getting a coke. Want one of those too?

((ooc: need to run out for a little while. Go ahead and respond, I'll respond when I get back. Shouldn't be long.))

"Sprite, actually," he says with a smile. Chihaya was really glad he asked Michael to come with him. It's no fun going to the movies by yourself and Michael was really starting to look a bit better. This made Chihaya very happy.

Okay, popcorn, Reese's pieces, a Coke and a Sprite.

I'm really glad we're doing this. I needed to get away from the house for a while. *smiles* Even if I feel like I'm playing hooky from the store in order to do it.

Chihaya pauses to think about that. "Consider it-" he smiles and nods decisively, "a mental health day!"

*laughs* Now that, I think, is the perfect excuse after the way this week has gone. I just hope next week is better. *frowns a little* I really don't see how it could be worse, but I also really shouldn't be tempting fate by saying that. Not in a town that has been attacked by zombies.

"Next week will be better because it's still holding many possibilities for it to be better," Chihaya says to Michael in a cheerful voice, taking the candy and his Sprite. At the mention of zombies, he nods. "See? All ready the week could be looking up if we avoid another attack of zombies."

*solemn nod* Let's hope some of those possibilities become reality.

*laughs* I never thought that looking on the bright side of life would include being happy about avoiding zombie attacks. I read a lot of comic books, but this town proves that truth is stranger than fiction.

Thanks for inviting me to the movies, Chihaya. This really is what I needed today.

Shall we grab some seats?

"Sure," Chihaya waves his soda around for Michael to lead the way."I'm glad you came with me!" He cradled his Sprite and wrestled with his bag to get it open. "It is sort of like a comic, isn't it? That reminds me, I must call Kagetsuya to go by and get my reserves. I haven't been by in a couple of weeks."

*balances popcorn and coke to open the door, stops just inside doorway to let his eyes adjust to the dimmer light*

I don't think I've ever asked you about where you're from. I take it it's not too difficult to get to from here?

"Right now we live on the mainland. Kagetsuya owns a small cafe. We're not from here at all, but we don't have anywhere else to go." There was a wistful tone to Chihaya's voice. He shrugs and gives a bright smile. "Wherever Kagetsuya is, that's my home now."

*smiles, a little sadly* Home is where your loved ones are. As long as you've made a home and are happy, that's all that really matters...no matter where you're from.

((ooc: your call as to when the lights dim and the movie starts. I've got stuff that I can do between posts if you want to continue the conversation.))

"So, I guess you're not from here either?" Chihaya sits his cup in the cup holder so he can finally get his bag open.

((ooc: we can converse a little longer before the movies starts and mod through the movie to the end, then decide where to go from there?))

I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It's not too far away, really. My mother came out here first, and encouraged me and Ben to follow. Said there were some great opportunities. Which was before I knew we had things like zombies. *grins* But all in all, it's a great little town here. I don't miss Pittsburgh itself much, although I miss my friends a little, and our son, who bought out my old store when he finished college. But I'm making friends here too, so it hasn't been too bad of an adjustment.

((ooc: works for me. I haven't seen the movie IRL. Right now I think only the Perk has an open thread. We can go there, or see if anything else opens up soon or go walk in the park or something after the movie.))

"It's interesting, that's for sure," Chihaya agrees. "I haven't made many friends here. It's been really hard."

He looks at Michael and smiles. "You don't look old enough to have a son out of college."

*smiles* You've got one friend right here, at least.

*laughs* Thanks. He's not ours naturally. *ponders explaining human genders and reproduction and decides not to* Ben and I adopted him. When he was a teenager, he was living on the streets and we took him in. He was a handful sometimes, but we're very proud of him.

"Oooooh," Chihaya stifles a giggle and grabs a handful of popcorn. He set the bag of Reeses Pieces between them. "That makes sense. I'm glad things turned out well for him."

He was going to ask more but the lights dimmed and the premovie show started up.

It is nice to have a friend in Michael. He is a really nice guy and Chihaya likes him.

((ooc: if you like, you can mod us through the movie and we can head to the Perk or the Park or the shop, wherever Michael wants to go.))

Michael settles down as the movie begins. He's glad for the distraction, and it's a downright cute little movie. He's glad for the company too. It helps him forget his own problems, just a little. He's almost sad when the lights go up again, tossing him back into the real world.

That was fun. Thanks again for inviting me. I'd suggest seeing if my mom's place is open, but I don't think I could eat anything else after all that popcorn and candy yet. Probably should go check on the store, just in case ~~since a customer just came in~~. But you're welcome to come back with me to talk.

"Ok!" Chihaya gathers up their garbage and dumps it in the trash receptacle. "I don't want to keep you from work but I really enjoyed the movie! Thanks for coming with me!"

Nothing else to do at the moment, Chihaya decides he could walk with Michael back to the store and if it was too busy, find something else to do.

Mark smiles as he sells the tickets to Chihaya and Michael. The theater seems to attract *more* cute couples these days...

It appeared the Evil One had burned herself out again, thank god, yes the new guy was very cute but he was clearly very dangerous (and she knew even that was an understatement), missing Geoff more and more everyday Paige decided to try and get her mind off things and see a film.

"One for the 7pm showing please," she said looking sad

"That's $7.50. Thanks for coming," Mark says

Paige hands over the money, "This is like a cheery film right?"

Mark shrugs. "It's cute. There are rabbits, and a couple good jokes."

"Cute I can cope with, thanks, as long as there are no star crossed lovers or anything" she says sighing, before stalking off to get random chocolate and other sugery items.
