Sam raises an eyebrow, but orders Janet's drink and her own (large vanilla skim latte). She pays the barista, then takes both drinks to the table, setting the mocha in front of Janet.
"What?" There was nothing wrong with extra caffeine. There wasn't. When Sam handed her the mocha, she picked it up and held it for a minute, pretending to have self-control. In reality, she'd been contemplating eating the extra whipped cream or stirring it in.
"Daniel came over. We watched a movie." She grinned ruefully. "And we really did watch the movie."
"I was in my room, doing homework. Fun Saturday night stuff, huh?" Sam grins evilly, then elbows Janet. "I'll leave Janet's night up to her to tell you."
Having spent two days with no one to talk to but the cranky guy at the hotel desk (and he was hardly ever around anyway), Jonas is pretty desperate to be around people -- any people.
The little cafe looks fairly inviting, and he wanders inside. His two days of isolation haven't brought him any closer to figuring out what happened or how, and he'd do just about anything to see a familiar face. Too bad right now he's not quite sure whose face will be familiar and whose won't.
[ooc- If you don't mind some severe slow-play, then for God's sake talk to the poor guy!]
Sam looks away from Jack and Janet at the sound of the bell over the door. Her mouth drops open as she recognizes the newcomer and she promptly elbows Janet in the side. "No. Way."
He gives the young woman a quick smile, hoping it'll forestall any further questions until he's gotten his bearings. Whatever luck it is that's brought him to this place on this day, he's glad it's landed him among familiar faces...or, a sense of the familiar, at any rate.
Jonas turns with a surprised look. Hmm. Familiar face? No. Voice? May...be. But there's definitely something telling him he's supposed to know this kid.
Sam puts her drink on the table and walks over to him. "Jonas Quinn?" She poked him in the arm, just to make sure she wasn't hallucinating. He felt solid.
Aw crap. Jack didn't hear anything about Jonas ascending much less unascending. Maybe he just got a good knock to the head? Oh damn. Could be the whole teenage thing, huh?
Janet receives a bright smile in response to her offer, and Jonas pulls up a chair at their table. He turns to Sam to respond. "Thank you, I really appreciate that. Right now I have...so many questions, I don't think I can figure out where to start."
Jonas nods, thinking. "Well, I guess first I'd like to know who you are. Although I'm guessing maybe you think it would be better for me to figure that out on my own?"
