In the Perk

[ooc: This takes place very shortly after sunset, around 5 PM FHT. Also, Vladdie won't make a mess if he's allowed in. He's very well-trained. But let me know if Ror should go put him outside]

Rory wanders into the Perk with Logan in her purse, and Vladdie on his leash. She orders her usual caramel macchiato, as well as some carrot cake for Logan. She settles down at a table, opens a notebook, and waits for her interviewees.

Lily walks in, orders a french vanilla cappucino, and looks around. She walks over to Rory and introduces herself.

"Hi, I'm Lily Evans - here for the interview."

Rory rises slightly, and offers her hand to Lily.

"Hi, Lily. Have a seat. Um, you don't mind rabbits or dogs, do you?" she asks, waving a hand at Logan, who is very busy with the carrot cake, and Vladdie, who bounces happily.

Lily shakes Rory's hand and sits across from her. She looks at the animals and says, "No - I don't mind, though I am more of a cat person." She smiles, nervously.

Rory grins. "Good to know. And neither of them'll bother you, anyway. Just making sure you're not allergic or anything."

She tucks a lock of hair behind her ear, and glances at her notbook. "Okay, Lily, first off - why do you want to be a peer mediator?"

Lily thinks for a moment before responding. "Well, I've spent a lot of time being friends with people who argue. I tend to be the person that both sides come to to talk, and I like to help people try to understand different perspectives and search for compromise."

Allie arrives at the Perk and looks for Rory. She waits until Lily's interview is over and then goes up to her.

"Hi, Rory, I'm Allie."

Rory smiles, standing and offering a hand. "Yes, I remember you from the yearbook meeting," she says, arching a brow good-naturedly. "Have a seat. Do you have any problems with dogs or rabbits, by the way?"

Allie blushes slightly. "I was kind of hoping you'd forgotten about that," she admits.

She looks at the puppy and the bunny.

"Aw, they're adorable! You just had a birthday right? Were they presents? Can I pet them?"

"I don't hold it against you," Rory says, smiling and rolling her eyes slightly.

"And yeah, you can pet them, though the bunny might not like it. Puppy was a present, bunny wasn't." She smiles wryly. "Bunny used to be my boyfriend, actually."

Allie blinks. "The bunny is that boy from the Yearbook meeting? I don't think I want to know."

She reaches out and pats the puppy on the head.

"Well, happy birthday. And thanks, you know, for not holding that against me."

Duce heads into The Perky for some coffee. Spotting Rory with a bunny wearing.. a.. necklace, she pauses and frowns at it, "Rory? Should your bunny be wearing that? It could catch on something if the bunny panics." She doesn't ask why Rory has a bunny in a coffee shop. Or why it's happily munching it's way through carrot cake.

This is Fandom High. There are some things you just don't ask.

Rory rolls her eyes. "No, he seems to like his necklace. Though, I wonder if I should give him little bunny clothes of some sort."

She glances up at Duce. "This isn't a regular bunny, by the way. This is a boy...who's been turned into a rabbit."

Duce stares at Rory for a moment, stunned, "A were-lapine? We didn't even know those existed. Or.. he didn't eat the cafeteria food, did he?" A look of nauseated horror passes her features.

"Nope," Rory shrugs. "We were in a...um...closet," she blushes, "and there was this flashy blue light, and suddenly...we have a bunny."

She takes a sip of her coffee. "It was very odd."

Logan seems to finally be listening, rather than eating carrot cake, and gives a little bunny nod.

"That sounds like what Jake said happened when he became a girl," Duce muses thoughtfully. "Probably someone's idea of a sick jo.."

She turns and gives the bunny a very strange look, "Rory? Are you wearing any of Logan's clothes or.. shampoo or anything?"

Lorelai is walking through town, waiting for Luke to finish up at the diner so they can go home, when she spots her daughter sitting in the Perk. She feels slightly disloyal to her husband, but goes in and orders a cup of coffee.

"Hey, kid!" she says, walking to Rory's table.

"Hi Mom!" Rory says, surprised. "What're you doing here?"

Vladdie bounces eagerly and barks.

Logan glares, and twitches his whiskers.

"Waiting for Luke. I saw you through the window. This coffee is almost as good at Luke's," she says, taking a big drink.

She starts petting the puppy. "So, a vampire puppy. I would think that was a weird gift, but after fighting zombies, not so much."

She ignores Logan-the-Bunny and says, "So you want to fill me in on this detention thing now?"

"Oh. Um. Yeah," Rory says, glancing at Logan, and begins her explanation, stuttering. "I...was mad at Logan because he left me at a party, and my friend Jake - you might've seen him at the party...tallish, dark hair, skinny? - and I came up with this plan to get back at him because Logan kissed this guy at the party on a dare. And apparently, that guy was Jake's boyfriend.

So Jake kinda thought this revenge thing was a good idea, and we kissed in front of Logan and Alex - the other guy - in Journalism. While Jake was a girl - oh, and Jake can change forms. So Logan was...angry, and hit Jake after he turned back to a boy. And then Professor Jerusalem gave us all detention."

Logan looks very annoyed at this story.

Lorelai stares at her daughter in disbelief. She thought Stars Hollow was weird. This place definitely had it beat.

"You kissed a boy who was a girl to get back at your boyfriend," she shoots a pointed glare at the bunny, "who had kissed a boy at a party on a dare."

She shakes her head. "You're not going to get in trouble again, right?"

Parker is stopping in for a big coffee before she heads back to the dorms from pillaging Echolls' place. She's still humming.

"Hey, Gilmore. How's brave, brave Sir Bunny?"

"Hey, Parker. He...likes cake, apparently," Rory says. Logan doesn't even look up.

Parker smirks at the bunny, and sits her purse down while she balances her coffee. "Good to know. And how is Vladdie?" she asks, bending down, making kissy noises, then looking embarassed.

Vladdie eagerly leaps up and starts zooming towards Parker, straining against his leash.

"Vladdie is good," Rory says succinctly.

Parker laughs, and pats him on the head. "Yes he is. How goes your day?" Parker reaches for her purse without looking at it, and tips it over.
