Monday, 10 a.m. -- The Bank is Open Again
Salmoneus comes out onto the small porch of the bank and checks the new message box on the wall. He frowns when he sees it empty, then shrugs and turns back toward the door. Flipping the sign from Closed to Open, he then also hangs another sign that says:
Grand RE-Opening!
The zombies are gone and we're back in business!
Come on in and open an account today!
He straightens both signs, then looks around at the town and smiles before heading back inside, being certain to prop the door open.

"Be with you i-" The smile disappears and the banker's face turns white. He springs to his feet only to come around the desk and fall face first on the floor.
"Lord Hades, welcome." Looking up, he notices that the robe is gone and the suit of armor, still mostly black, makes the god look taller. "Nice armor. The work of Hephaestus, no doubt?"
[ooc: I'm not yet an lj officianado so I accidentally posted this in the wrong place

"Are you -- I mean, you are -- that is --" He throws up his hands
and hopes he isn't about to get fried in the pits of Tartarus. "You're not Hades, god of the underworld?" The banker looks at the armor again and shivers. "If not, you certainly have the look down."no subject

Going around the end of the counter he puts a smile back on his face. It's a little forced, but definitely a smile.
"I apologize for the mistake. Forgive me. How can I help you today?"

not going to send him to meet Cerberusreally a customer."Just fill these out and we'll get started. I also need two forms of identification."
no subject
"You just need one, I'm Tex. I think that will do." Her tone is pleasent, but you only have to look at her armour to realise that she could very well send him to Cerberus if she feels like it.

But Tex certainly did look a lot like Hades would, if his armour was bigger... and he didn't have a cape... and had more weapons...
"That's certainly good enough for me." His smile is strained, but it stays put. "Will this be a personal or business checking or savings?"
[ooc: no worries. I'm at work, so I'll be sporadic, but I'd love to play it through.]

"Business checking," she replies and slides the forms back over the counter.

"I'll have to check the exchange rate, but it shouldn't be too bad." He rubs his chin in contemplation. "Five hundred years, huh? That should hardly make a difference as I'm from a couple thousand years in the past." He grins at her. "I'm suddenly feeling very old."

At the mention of his time, Tex frowns. "How's the security here?"

to see the Harpy sleeping peacefully outside the vault. It wakes with the opening of the door, then looks up. Seeing the stranger, it hisses and stands, its claws becoming obvious and its wings opening.
Salmoneus leans in. "Just taking a peek. Go back to sleep." He closes the door and grins at Tex. The reaction of the harpy is the final proof that Tex isn't Hades in disguise -- the creature would have known the god even through the armour.
"Isn't much in this world that can kill a harpy, you know."
no subject
"It's a bird," Tex stares at Salmoneus, she has no clue what a harpy is but it looks like a bird and she highly doubts it will even dent her armour.

Moving back to the counter he continues. "And like I said, they can't be killed. In the underworld they're vulnerable, but not in our world. That's why Hades sent one with me, you know." He pauses in the middle of stamping a form. "And you should have seen what it did to those zombies."

"I'll take your word for it," she finally turns her full attention back to Salmoneus. "Tell me about that metal of Hepha-..?."

The older man comes back to himself and shakes his head. "What am I blathering on about? You don't want to hear that." Sliding the papers into a folder, he looks back at Tex. There's a sudden gleam in his eye. "All that's left is to verify your deposit."

When she returns a while later, she's carrying some sort of case. She slams it down on the counter and opens the lock. Turning it around so Salmoneus can see, she opens the case which is filled with the dollars from her time. "Think this will do?" She asks, tone slightly mocking.

He begins counting it, quickly and efficiently, noting the differences between what he's going to call Future Dollars and the money of today.
"Will you be needing any cash today, Tex? Or is this all for the deposit?" He stops for a moment to turn a bill the right way. "All the soldiers need to march the same direction," he mutters.

After a quick thought, he reaches down and grabs a couple of old quarter boxes that he'd been planning to get rid of. The Future Dollars, somewhat shorter than the modern currency, fit very nicely into them, and he slowly filled two, then three of the boxes.
When finished with that task, he closed the case and fiddled with the locks till they clicked. Taking a pen, he looked up at Tex. "I just love the new gadgets they come up with. I mean, Magic markers!" The older man chuckled, then wrote on each box, 'Future Dollars.'
That done, he picked up the now filled quarter boxes, piling them carefully in his arms, and headed for the door to the vault. "Could you open the door for me, Tex?"

"Ah, go on back to sleep, you," he mutters at it. It whines in response as he spins the wheel on the actual vault to open it. "I know you're hungry. I'm expecting some meat for you later today. Hades promised more stag."
The banker places the boxes carefully inside the vault, then closes the door, spinning the wheel one more time. "There! Safe as a babe in its mother's arms." He leaves the vault after reaching over and patting the harpy.
[ooc: cutting this into two posts. Hang on.]

"How about four fifties, and the rest in twenties?" He looks up. That's five hundred in cash, and nine hundred, ninety-nine thousand, five hundred in your account." With a flourish he hands her the cash and the folder of papers. "Here's all the information and some blank checks in case you need them. I'll let you know what the exchange rate is going to be; I don't think it'll be bad at all. Is there anything else I can do for you?"

"Republic credits! Wow, haven't had that request yet. And what the heck is a holocron?" He wanders back inside, scratching his head.
