Luke's Diner, Wednesday

Luke flips the sign on the door to "Open" and starts brewing a pot of coffee. The glazed donuts are fresh today, but the diner is running low on pie.

After closing her shop, Tex decides to try out the diner for this evening. While she doesn't have her rifle with her, although there's a handgun strapped to her side, she's still in full armour as she enters and takes a seat at one of the tables.

Lane walks out from the kitchen and sees the first... customer. Thinking to herself This is not the weirdest thing I've seen here, she approaches the table. "Hi, I'm Lane, I'll be your server. Can I start you with something to drink?"

"Sweet tea," Tex replies without having to think.

"I'll be right back with that," she says, walking to the counter.

When she returns with the drink she places it on the table and asks, "Are you ready to order?"

"I'll have a cheeseburger with fries," Tex says as she starts undoing the helmet. It opens with a hiss and she puts it down on the empty chair next to her.

Watching the helmet, Lane says, "Good choice - Luke's known for his burgers. I'll have that out for you in just a few minutes."

"That's good to hear, it's been a while since I had one." Tex says, getting a bit over her cranky mood at the prospect of food. She notices Lane watching the helmet. "Something wrong?"

Embarrassed at being caught staring, Lane quickly says, "Oh, no - of course nothing's wrong. I just, uh... we don't get a lot of... helmets in here. Not that that's weird or anything. I mean, I'll go put your order in now." Lane walks back to the counter.

Tex smirks at Lane's nervousness and sips from her drink.

Draco comes into the diner and sits down at one of the tables. He sits and looks at a menu while waiting for Lily.

Lily enters and looks around for Draco. Smiling when she sees him, she walks over and sits across from him. "Hey," she says.

Draco puts down the menu and smiles at Lily.

"Hey." he says "How've you been?"

"Fine - my headache's almost gone, so that's a happy thing. How are you? How were your meetings last night?"

"I'm glad your headache is getting better. You were worrying me there for a minute." he says

"The meetings we're alright. JA is having a bake sale for the Parent's Weekend. Like I've ever cooked anything before in my life. I think that one Mars girl is going to bake some cookies. As long as Faith doesn't hog them I think we'll be alright. She's a cookie fiend."

Lily blushes when he says he was worried.

"Do you have any free time tomorrow? I could teach you how to bake cookies or brownies or something. It would be fun, and then I could do my part to support you - behind the scenes," she offers.

"That would be fun. I don't want to catch anything on fire. Which is what would happen if I did it by myself." he says "But I get dibs on licking the mixing bowl."

"Deal," she said, smiling again. "oh! I guess I should look at the menu before the waitress comes over." She picked up a menu and scanned it. "What are you going to have?"

Sawyer wanders in with Kate at his side, he looks famished and could probably eat a cow at this point. He and Kate take a booth and survey their menus.

Kate just sits down with him, she still finds it odd that he's invited her to dinner.

He glances over his menu at her and then goes back to squinting at the fonts on the menu, he really needed to see a damn eye doctor.

"You okay?" she asks.

"Uh yeah. I got diagnosed with Hyperopia, or Farsightedness..It sucks a big fat one." he groans as he reads the menu.

Luke walks over to the table.

"What can I get you?"

Looking at the menu one more time, he glanced up at Luke, "Hamburger with cheese, everything on it with fries and a coke." he hands the man the menu.

He looks at the lady and waits for her order.
