Shane steps into the diner and pulls of her cap and jacket, hanging them up by the door, and slips off her sunglasses, tucking them away in her jacket pocket. "Hey, Deb," she says, smiling.

"Hey Baby. Looks like it's going to be a busy weekend. We're only charging for dinner, like the sign says."

Glancing back at the sign, Shane's eyes scan it and she makes a mental note, turning back to Deb with a smile. "Got it," she says, nodding. "Oh, and um... Deb? I've got this assignment for school? Uhhh... I'm... kinda in charge of this person for a couple of days and ... if it's cool with you, she might be coming in and she's just gonna help me with some of my work and stuff. Nothing major, just little stuff. Is -- is that all right?"

Deb's brows knit a little, but she shrugs. "If it's for school, sure. Shouldn't be a problem. When'd you get enrolled, Baby?"

Chloe heads into the diner, looking around a little nervously for Shane. Not that she thinks she has much to be nervous about, except maybe getting in the way and making the diner owner mad.

Seeing Chloe, Shane excuses herself from the counter for a moment. "Hey, Chloe," she says, smiling. She can see that Chloe's nervous and places a hand on her shoulder. "Hey," she murmurs gently, meeting her eyes. "I talked to Deb, okay. She knows about the assignment and it's totally cool."

Chloe relaxes almost instantly, smiling. "That's great. This is a really cute place. I can't remember having been in here before."

Michael enters the diner. Ben is right behind him, fingers hooking the belt loops on either side of Michael's jeans. Disentangling themselves, they take a seat in a booth.

Deb bends over to kiss each of them and be kissed back. "What'll it be tonight, boys?"

*looks around* Okay, you can't tell me you haven't put any out. Where'd you stick the PFLAG pamphlets for the parents?

Anakin and Obi-Wan came in, chatting and laughing about nothing in particular. Anakin looked around for a booth.

"Hey, guys," Shane said with a smile, recognizing Anakin from zombie weekend. She grabbed her order pad and pen and gestured to the empty booths. "You can just sit anywhere."

The food is delicious, if one can tolerate the quaint atmosphere.

*pulls out a chair for her, sits down. Beat.*

*takes a very deep breath* Please believe me when I say that it was not my fault. There was an influx of zombies on campus--Dean Bristow might have mentioned them?--and I was forced into the library with some students and teachers for protection and a good attack point. I ran afoul of some sort of--curse, and had to wait for the transformation to wear off. Which it has, mostly.

I am making up my classes as I can--my professors have been kind. And Professor Dream says that I'll receive extra credit in Cat for the amount of time I spent in feline shape.
