Phale's Rare Books, Friday Evening

Although he isn't expecting anyone to come by, not while everyone is busy with Parents Weekend at the school, still Aziraphale feels that it wouldn't be right not to be prepared. The door to the shop is open, and he has a nice tea set out on the table. Currently, he's thinking that he really ought to get more chairs.

Having left Jon and Alanna to make out in a closet somewhere catch up, Myles decided to explore the town. He felt especially drawn to a bookstore.

Myles smiled a bit. "Yes, it is. I beg pardon, but do you live here?"

Myles shook his head. "I'm here to make sure my ward hasn't run off and done something stupider than usual. In the mean time, do you know a good pub?"

"Thank you." Myles headed out to find the place.

Once things had calmed at the pub, Yazoo ducked out to see if the bookstore was open. All attempts on the mainland to find these books either yielded up more money than Yazoo had to pay, or they just couldn't get these out of print books.

Word around the town was his man could get or find anything, so Yazoo thought he would give it a chance. Yazoo remembered him from the park and with minor hesitation, entered the store.

Tilting his head, Yazoo leveled a neutral gaze at the man. It melted into a smile. "Well enough," he said. His attention looked around the front of the store and the number of books in the space.

Yazoo looked at the chairs and shook his head. The chairarms would block his gun hand. "Books," he said.

He didn't see the need to tell him that he'd never had 'tea' before.

"Chocolate," Yazoo's expression lit up. He liked sweets. They usually didn't have the money for sweet things.

Licking at his lips, he unzipped his leather, he pulled out his list of books.

[ooc- Ooh. Appeal to the child in him]

Taking the mug, Yazoo looked in it and the white things floating. He took a sip and thought he would melt right there. It was almost as good as sex.

...almost. He gave Aziraphale his paper, smeared with gun oil and grease.

"Blades and Barrels (http://www.collectorsfirearms.com/bk20.htm) by Gordon Frost and The .45-70 Springfield Book I and Book II (http://www.collectorsfirearms.com/book-pair45-70.htm) by Frasca and Hill," he said after another drink from the mug.

[ooc- very cool!]

((ooc: Just getting some reading in between posts. *whistles innocently* Don't be an egotist. Maybe I'm stalking them instead. *points to AC brothers* ;) ))

The white was especially sweet and he walked over to look at container they came from. He almost picked up one when Azirphale spoke to him and he turned suddenly, the hot chocolate sloshiing at bit over his gloved hand.

He frowned, just as much at the mess as at the information that Aziraphale didn't have them either. Shifting the mug to one hand, he licked slowly at the chocolate from his covered fingers.

"No," he said between licks. The last time one of the bookshop owners offered to order them, it cost more than he had. "I don't have the money now."

Yazoo took the handkerchief from Aziraphale and wiped at his hand. He shrugged smoothly and walked over to where his mug was taken. His gaze fell on the cookies and he took one, breaking it into pieces. "They were expensive."

[identity profile] ac-brothers.livejournal.com 2005-10-29 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Shrugging, Yazoo ate one of the pieces and looked around. There was something very comforting about this place. Like a large soft bed. "If you think," he said. It was Aziraphale's choice to end up eating the cost of the books if Yazoo couldn't pay.

[ooc- and Kadaj is never letting Yazoo and Loz out of his sight again! You are a corrupter!]

Distracted now, Yazoo picked up his mug, cookie in hand and walked among the books to look at them. Afraid to pull them down to touch, he tilted his head every so often to read a title.

His mouth formed around some words and he set his mug down long enough to pull this particular book down. Le Avventure di Pinocchio ... flipped open and Yazoo thumbed through the book to look at the woodcut illustrations intersperced in the text.

Yazoo leaned against the stool, his attention on the book. It's written in a language he can't read, but the pictures are fascinating. Sipping on the new mug, he flipped through the pages until he got to the end and put the book back.

Finishing his mug, he wandered back to the front and set the empty on the counter. "I should get back."

[ooc-sorry for the delay. sidetracked. but back now.]

Stopping to look at the bag, Yazoo stood there for a moment. He wasn't used to this kindness and he stood there quite awkwardly.

Yazoo looked at Aziraphale and tilted his head, a lazy, smile crossing his face. He gave him a nod and left the shop to head to the pub again.
