Saturday Evening - In the Park
Closing up the Clinic after he finished up with the last of his work, Wilson clipped MegaPage onto his hip and after a little contemplation he headed out to go for a walk. House had succeeded in sneaking in on the oncologist and Wilson hadn't realized his lover had been quietly watching him for a bit though that simply spoke to how comfortable he was with House being in his personal space.
It had always felt right having House close, it had always felt as natural as breathing and that had been part of what had driven Wilson out here to Fandom when his life had been torn apart around him. He needed House's quiet strength and the unconditional comfort he gained from the older man, just by being near. Even if they hadn't taken that final step to becoming lovers, coming here...coming to House was the only decision Wilson could make.
Still, the younger doctor had a lot on his mind. They say that the greatest hell any parent can know is to outlive their child and even though he knew all the arguments, scientific, political, religious regarding the status of life, he couldn't help feeling that loss in at every level of his psyche. Maybe it was because of all the other losses... the string of terminal cancer patients, the cusp of total burn out, all of it...Wilson wasn't entirely sure and part of that was why he was out walking.
Walking, thinking...trying to decide what lay ahead, trying to make sense of what had come before. The black leather jacket was pulled close around his body and eventually, he sat down on a bench, long legs sprawled out in front of him, eyes turned up towards the stars. He was dressed warmly enough to keep out the autumn chill, could smell the wood smoke, could hear the sounds of the town...a little busier it seemed due to the weekend, all of it reminded him of how life kept spinning along, reminded him that he couldn't stay still forever...but maybe just for a little while longer, surely he could be allowed to heal for a little while longer.
[ooc: Just kicking around trying out new locations if anyone would like to tag in, I promise he's not depressingly emo, just thoughtful. :)]

He'd kept a safe distance back, though he couldn't say for sure if Wilson knew he was there or not. He caught up to the oncologist at the bench, and sat down beside him without waiting for an invitation.

"You followed me?"

"I thought your line was 'well you were wearing rainboots today but you parked in the underground garage....yeah I followed you'. If you're going to go off script you should warn me."

"Good point. So, what brought you out here? I know your leg certainly didn't want the walk."

Wilson pointed out in a reasonable tone, though his eyes indicated he wasn't about to be deflected so easily.

"I've been getting these really weird vibes off you all day. I tohught you wanted to be alone, but when you left the clinic and didn't come home, I followed you. I'm not sure you're in the right frame of mind to be out here alone," House stated, eyes boring in to Wilson.

Unspoken were the questions Why? and What have I done to worry you so?

"You hate dates. Small talk, subtext and all that bullshit. I thought you were joking to get into my pants."

"Well...okay so I'm easy for you." His head rested against House's shoulder and he looked around.
"If you really mean it, we could try to find something around town?"

But, eventually he started to rouse himself.
"Neither am I, beloved but your leg isn't going to thank either of us for keeping you and it out here in this cold. Come on, lets see if we can find a resturant."
The endearment came out...naturally, almost without thought but the word was warmed with intent and genuine adoration.
