The Beach: Town: Locked to Phoebe and Maia: NFB

Maia sat on a deck chair facing Phoebe on hers. "Whats going on Phoebe, you have'nt said a word since we left the dorms." Maia is worried. The sky was grey, hints of the sun coming up tinging the clouds with bits of pink the swells were high and pounding in. The beach was empty except for the two of them, Maia pulled her sweater tighter around her, there was a chill in the air.

Phoebe looked at Maia.

"My Grams was here last night and she told us that we're the Charmed Ones...we're the three witches that the Source of All Evil wants killed." Tears filled her eyes. "That's not all. She brought us a book, and it has Cole in it!"

Maia sat in stunned silence for a few moments. "He's in the book." She finally managed to get out. "Bu-but you- but he loves you." Maia glanced around the beach again. "Does he know, what you are?"

Phoebe has tears starting to slip down her cheeks.

"He does love me and he'd never hurt me," she says confidently. "I don't think he knows anything beyond that I'm a witch..."

Maia chewed her lip. "I-Phoebe what are you going to do. What if he does hurt you? What if, what if he is planning all this. He wouldn't be in that book if he wasn't bad would he?" Maia draws Phoebe's hands into hers rubbing them softly to warm them up. "Is he one of those people we saw?"

Phoebe looked down at their hands. "No, I didn't see him in the dreams or the images. I don't know why he's in the book, for sure."

Maia pulled Phoebe into her arms. "Its ok Phoebe. Its going to be ok." Maia knew nothing else she could say. She hated to see Phoebe hurting. "What did the book say Phoebe, about Bel-Cole?"

Phoebe hugged Maia. "It says he's evil, but he's not completely evil. He protected me when I was being stalked." She took a shuddering breath. "It says other things, too, Maia."

Maia slowed her breathing down, not being a person who got their powers through magic, the idea of real magic still scared her a bit. "What else do-does it say Phoebe?"

Maia let her breath out. "Phoebe" Maia is shocked and amazed. "Kill him?" She questioned. "Phoebe." Maia said again not letting go of Phoebe in her shock, quite the opposite she found her arms held Phoebe tighter.

Maia drew Phoebe closer to her as she laid back on the deck chair staring out into the ocean and waves. She stroked Phoebe's hair just holding her for a while, laying there and not speaking. "Have you talked to him about it?"

Maia kept holding Phoebe, her chin resting on top of Phoebe head. Maia kissed into Phoebe's hair and whispered. "You need to when you see him darling. If he is how you say he is, maybe it will all work out." She stroked Phoebe's arms keeping her safe and protected against her.

Maia's heart tugged a little. Belthazor was always a sore subject with her but Phoebe loved him, and Maia loved Phoebe so it was whatever Phoebe wanted that Maia wanted to give to her. "I know Phoebe. I'll help you. I don't know how but I will help you if you need it." Maia's heart ripped in two as she said it but she mended it again reminding herself it was Phoebe she was helping not Belthazor.
