Geoff stares, puzzled, at the collection of quills. He carefully picks one up and examines the nib -- metal, he's surprised to discover. Wondering how that will affect the quality of the quill, he pulls out a piece of paper and his ink bottle. A few quick strokes tell him all he needs to know, and he grins delightedly.

After searching all over and not finding a card, however, his puzzlement returns. Who would do this? Who would send me writing quills? He puts them carefully away with his other materials and and sits down at his worktable, trying to imagine where they might have come from.
