Late Monday Night

After the giant mess he made with his own desires with Aziraphale, Tara, and Shane, Crowley goes to sulk by the pond and feed the ducks. Stupid Witch...just had to get bloody involved. Now who knows if it's Ineffable or not, it could be her Powers That Be mucking with us. Questions swirl around his head. What he really needs is some clarity of his evil.

He throws a nugget of scone and pings it off the mallard's head. This small malicious act makes him smile. He lights a cigarette and watches the angry canard.

More or less out of nowhere, Kiki drops out of the sky and lands suddenly near Crowley. She's barefoot, the red bow is gone from her head, making her wind-blown hair stand up like a frizzy mane, and she smells of sea salt and campfire smoke.

Reaching into her pocket, she lets a handful of peppermints tumble into through her fingers into his lap.

"You're really good at extorting these things out of me, you know," she says.

"You never are," Kiki observes neutrally, shifting her gaze to the irritated duck. "Did the duck do something wrong?" she asks.

"I've been at the beach. It's All Hallow's Eve, you know," Kiki answers, as if that is supposed to explain everything. "And really, it's not so much that I'm out to bother you, it's just that you especially looked like you wanted someone to bother. I mean, it's not as though the duck is doing that much fighting back. So I'm guessing that's not terribly satisfying. If it's too many peppermints, you could always use those as ammo instead. I'm sure they sting a bit harder than a scone if you zing 'em just right."

Kiki's quick, but not quick enough. She ducks just enough to make it bounce off her left temple rather than right between the eyes.

"Ouch!" Kiki complains, rubbing the spot. "I was right. They DO sting a bit harder, even if I've never been hit with a scone for comparison."

It glances off her arm and rolls away down the hill towards the pond where it is quickly gobbled up by a surprisingly nocturnal duck.

"Yep, scones definitely don't sting anywhere as much," she reflects. "It does seem like a waste of the peppermint, but they're yours now to eat or throw as you like. It looks like either way you're in a better mood," Kiki answers with a small grin.
