At the apocalypse Ave

Puss walks through town, looking around at the houses and different shops, sometimes standing for a moment to take a closer look at the shop windows. He has a day off of work and decided to get a bit familiar with the town he lives in now. "well, babey, this could be fun" he says, as a dustball rolls by.

Maia is on her way back from the store with her playdough and silly putty in the bags. She walks by the cat at first and then stops to do a double take. The cat was wearing boots and a hat. "Hi" She said glancing around to make sure nobody sees her talking to the cat in case the cat cannot talk.

Maia jumps slightly at the fact the cat does talk she then grins. "Its mine as well. My name is Maia, whats yours?" She looks him over "I like your boots."

Maia glanced around up and down the street for a moment. "Well there is Spikes Pub but that does not open until about 5 or so. If you fancy a drink that is."

Maia glances at her watch "Its almost two" She said. "Though if you want come scotch the emporium would have it I would think."

Maia glances down at her bags. "Well actually I just left from there but I can walk you there." Maia thinks for a moment "I- well I dont think they are Roman, wait one of them is kinda olive skinned so he may be Italian." Maia nods "Where are you from?"

Maia shifts her bags to her other hand and takes the tiny paw. "So what brings you to Fandom?" Maia said looking at his little hat and cape. Everything was so tiny she couldn't help but smile at how adorable the little cat was and his wee little' boots.

Maia smiles down at Puss. "I am yes. Are you in business for a while here or just pleasure?"

Maia smiled. "Is that where you got your boots from?"

maybe she will model them sometime She glanced his boots again. "I haven't been to that shop yet. I'll have to drop in sometime."

Maia giggles at the cat little paw on hers. "I will have to do that indeed. I'll give you my number so you can let me know when your working and I can come shop and try on some nice thongs or simply white cotton panties when your there." They approach the emporium.

Maia writes the number and nods. "Yep. They pretty much have everything. Even playdough." She smiles at this shifting her bag again. "Just go in and Ben will help you find whatever you need. I need to get going I have a paper to finish up. and have to 'lose' some underware for an excuse to need more It was very nice to meet you Puss."

A sleek black cat is perched atop a planter in the middle of several clusters of chysanthemums, eyeing the newcomer.

The tawny tiger is a cat... definitely a cat.

Wearing a hat.

And boots.

And a sword.

Either this cat was terribly forgiving to his witch, or he was insane all by himself.

He had been on his way to visit Aziraphale, but this was worth further investigation. Jiji crouches in the 'mums and intently watches the caped feline on the sidewalk.

Knowing he's been spotted - afterall, it takes a cat to find a cat - Jiji slinks out of his hiding place and hops onto the sidewalk, regarding the booted stranger curiously.

Twitching his whiskers, Jiji asks at last, "I have to ask. Boots? And a sword?" He keeps his tone very carefully neutral and politely curious, not wishing to give any impression of disapproval.

"Oh, yes, of course, the hat," nods Jiji seriously. "With the little feather, naturally. Quite a dashing ensemble, really."

Jiji's whiskers twitch again. "My name is Jiji," he answers. "I live up at the school with my witch, Kiki. Are you here with a student as well?"

"Really!" Jiji sounds a little astonished, perhaps even slightly impressed. "A free agent, eh? That must have it's conveniences. Nice to meet you, Puss. It's always good to have another cat in town. And, while I think of it, to let you know, sometimes you'll meet cats that aren't really cats. There's a class, Language of Cats, and the professor sometimes turns the students into cats and sends them out to prowl. It's always fun to mess with them - that is, show them the intricacies of cat-hood, of course."

"It's bizarre - I'm not used to being in a place where I can talk to someone other than Kiki. It seems half the people have some method of getting around the language barrier," Jiji observes.

"Yeah, cats that are just transformed people - er - students." He sighs. "And it really is such a shame... Paige makes a nice cat. I mean, really, mee-OW! "

"Paige? Alas, no, she is not mine," Jiji laments jokingly. "She has a human boyfriend. Or did. Now she has another one. I told her that didn't matter, and that she could have a handsome feline as well, but I don't think she bought it. I'm sure you'll see her around. Maybe you'll have better luck.

"Kiki, on the other hand, is mine - although she I'm sure would tell you that I am hers. We were born on the same day." Although this would make Jiji almost 16 years old, he looks as if he has only just reached adult size, and seems quite youthful. "And ever since her mother presented me to her as a kit, we've been together. She's my witch, and I'm her familiar."

Jiji doesn't miss a beat. "No, just spit." He cocks his head to one side. "Kiki gives me baths every once in a while, though. But not since we've been here. Mind, I'm not complaining. Not at all."

"Every so often, yeah," Jiji remarks. "When she thinks she can get away with it. It rains on occasion, but not really that often here. Just enough to keep it interesting and useful for plot purposes."
