Azriphale's bookshop - [NFB: Locked to Phale, Crawley, Parker, Marty, and The Tick]

Parker pushed open the door to Phale's bookshop, and looked around. "I don't see him, but the door's open, so he must be here somewhere." She shivered, and took off her gloves, looking around for Crawley, and glad not to see him at the moment.

"Thank you for playing escort, Professor Tick. I really appreciate it."

"It's not a problem, Parker," Tick said as he entered the shop. "I'm always glad to help in any way I can!" There may have been a slightly grim tone in his otherwise cheerful voice.

"I wish there wasn't anything to tell at all." Tick still stood by the door, ready for anyone or anything to come in.

"I needed to pick up some books from Mr. Phale anyway, so it's.." He almost said something about two birds and a stone, but refrained. "... pretty convenient for me."

"It's okay. She was in my class. She only joined a few weeks ago, but she was a great student. Very bright. Very dedicated to Doing Good Things. She had a real air of Destiny around her." Tick finally moved away from the door and took a seat.

Coming back to the shop after a long walk in the park, Aziraphale notices the small group of visitors inside. He pushes open the door and steps in.

"Good evening, Miss Parker, Professor Tick, Marty." He smiles at everyone, but looks especially pleased to see Marty.

"Not at all, my dear. I leave the door open for just that purpose. Why don't you all come and sit down -- I've put in a bit more in the way of furnishings, to make things more comfortable."

Aziraphale raises an eyebrow. "Is he, my dear? That's very thoughtful of him." His words may be just a bit more clipped than normal.

He smiles. "You're welcome to take as much time as you need."

"Hello, Mr. Phale! Sorry to interrupt with this, but have you received the books for my class yet?"

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2005-11-02 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, of course, Professor! Although the mun does not remember what they are They're in the back, I just get them for you."

[identity profile] bugofjustice.livejournal.com 2005-11-02 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank you, Mr. Phale!"

[OOC: We never selected a book. That class will be interesting. :) Back to watching the main thread now.]

Aziraphale disappears briefly into the back of the shop, returning with a stack of books, which he sets on the counter. "Here you are, Professor."

[ooc: I should randomly google something and just sell you what I come up with.]

Marty waves at Aziraphale.

"Hey Aziraphale. Sorry I haven't been around to help lately."

[OOC: Mail responses aren't working here for some reason.]

Aziraphale smiles at Marty. "Not at all, my dear. You've been busy, I quite understand."

[The angel finally sits, and Crowley makes his way over to him. He's sick of playing nice. He sits quietly by Aziraphale's feet, where he is most comfortable. He rests his head on the angel's knee and tryies to tune out the chatter of the busy souls in the shop.]

Aziraphale listens intently to Parker. "Really, my dear. The End of Days. How interesting." His bland demeanor is belied by an intense interest in his eyes.

Absently, he drops one hand down to rest on Crowley's head.

From the look on his face, it's obvious that Aziraphale hadn't considered that the outcome could be different for other worlds. He looks down toward Crowley, and speaks very softly, although someone listening closely would hear.

"Dear boy, I do not want to go through that again."
