The Bank is Open
Pleased with his continuing grasp on the new technology around him, Salmoneus is humming quietly and thinking about trying something with his flo-- phone. He reaches for it, but it rings and he stops, wondering if it's Hades again.
Steeling himself, he picks up the handle the way the young man showed him, and holds it to his ear."First Local Bank of Fandom Town, how may I help you?"
There's heavy breathing on the other end, and Salmoneus waits for someone to say something. "Hello, is anyone there?"
The breathing gets a little heavier, then a raspy voice says, "What are you wearing?"
With a smile, the older man replies, "My robe. It's kind of reddish, but lighter than red, and it's cut in the normal Thrace cut. It's a rough linen, but soft, and was made by this wonderful woman outside Athens. I've also got on a blue vest. If you want, I can give you the --" He hears a click, and the phone begins to buzz in his ear. "Hello?"
No one answers, and he shrugs and hangs up. "If he wants to know where to get one, he'll call back." He sits down behind his desk to count the money in his drawer.

It says:
I need to open an account. Unfortunately, my home is no longer a safe location to keep my money. I will need regular access, and for my two cubs to have access as well.

"Yes, sir. And what kind of account did you have in mind?" He pulls out some forms and picks up a pen. "Will this be business or personal, savings or checking?"

Chewbacca begins filling out the forms, his written English near flawless.
I would also be interested in converting some of it to Imperial credits when we leave.

"I'm sorry, we don't have Money Markets. We're too small a facility for such accounts. We do offer very good rates on our savings, though, with reasonable fees and a low penalty for early withdrawals."
"Imperial credits are not a problem. It would take me probably two weeks to get any substantial amount, so let me know in advance and I'll be sure to have some on hand."
He hesitated in his next statement, but continued. "I will need two forms of identification in order to open the accounts."

I would like to deposit thirty thousand dollars in the savings account and three thousand in the checking. I would like to make this also transferrable on death to my boys. I will ensure they have adequate spending money.

carpetcustomer. "Have the boys sign these and print their names. Then when you bring them back in, you'll need to sign both of them in front of me." He took the identifications and the forms and began his stamping and signing procedure. "Thirty thousand in savings, three in checking. Good." He nodded and made a note, then stamped, and looked up. "Wonderful! All we need to do now is verify the money, and we're done."[ooc: you mentioned the id matched the name he'd written -- is he using something other than Chewbacca?]</small]

Chewbacca takes the signature cards, nods and reaches into the satchel again. Three banded stacks of hundreds, and then three thousand, paperclipped in groups of 10 $100 bills, appear on the counter.

"And there we are." He starts to put the money in his drawer, the smile still on his face. "Three thousand and thirty thousand. An excellent beginning."
After putting the money away, Salmoneus handed over two folders. "And here are all the specifics of your accounts, the fee schedule, the interest rates, as well as your starter checks and some deposit and withrawal slips for your savings account. Don't forget to bring by the signature cards for the boys, and then I'll open up signing priveleges to them. Is there anything else I can do for you today?"

Thank you for your time.
