Within the office of Fandom Town's esteemed mayor, much growling and snapping, accompanied by the soft jingle wandering to and fro behind the closed door could be heard.

The Town Hall staff sat in the outer office with looks of surprise on their faces at the foul mood of their mayor, as he was normally such a good natured fellow. They respectfully remained quiet.

Ms. Gladys Pipp, head librarian of Fandom Town Library and now personal assistant to the mayor scurried into the outer office, looking a bit harried (in as much a prim and proper librarian could look harried). She straightened the errant hair that had come loose from her beehive 'do' and adjusted the jeweled cats eyed glasses (with the silver link chain to hold them around her neck) before she knocked smartly on the office door and walked in, shutting it behind her again.
