The Emporium is Open -- Thursday

The sign remains in the window:

"The Emporium will be closed Saturday/Sunday. Stock up now! We will reopen on Monday."

Michael was almost glad to be escaping the place for a couple of days, considering the news from the school about a possible murder running around. It reminded him of the time his mother found the body of a young hustler behind the diner back in Pittsburgh. Which also led him to remember that his adopted son had known that kid, and if not for luck and better street smarts, might have been that kid. He sighed, and began sweeping the floor, looking distracted.

A little slow. *winces* Leaving me a little too much time with my own thoughts. I'm sure you've heard there's a murder investigation up at the school?

Yes. I heard. It's rather terrible to think that our small town has someone like that. I've only heard that they've started the investigation - do you know anything more?

*shakes his head* No. I guess they have to kind of keep everything under wraps until they find the person who did it. *offers a sad smile* Might be good for your counseling business, though.

*glances at the sign* You and Ben are going away for the weekend, then? Off to visit Hunter?

We're going away just to get away. Perhaps a little romance. *grins* We could use it.

Hunter, on the other hand, is coming here next week. He should get here Tuesday, and stay through the end of the week. You'll have to stop by and meet him.

I'll be very glad to meet him. He must be quite a young man with parents like you and Ben.

*pays for her purchases* I have to get back to the Apple. The new owners have moved in and things are under negotiation.
