Blood Gulch Arms - Friday (NFB)

Business was going good. Tex' mood however was rapidly getting worse. Her fourth day out of armour and now there was a curfew in town. Really not funny. She placed the glove of her armour underneath the counter in case Yazoo would drop by later to take those measurements. Moving to the door, she flipped the open sign and frowned as she realised the entire town was decorated in red. Shaking her head, she went to sit behind the counter.

Maybe it was withdrawel. Before O'Malley, she'd go on leave for a week or so and it never bugged her to go out of armour. Now, she felt antsy. The fact that her back was itching as the skin was healing didn't help either. Scowling at the data pad in her hand, she continued her research.

Signs at the door:

Just in: Peacekeeper weapons
Pulse pistol and Pulse rifle

Special offer: gas mask and goggles
Price: $46
Students: $37

((Shop lay out and supplies can be found here.))

Yazoo was alone today, his brothers still working back at their house. He entered the shop with a box in his hand. "Tex," he said in greeting.

He showed her the box, walking up to the counter. Setting it down, he took off the lid and pulled the pistol out for her to hold. "I'll also have Kadaj put an edge on the blade unless you'd prefer to do that yourself."

"I'll be adjusting the balance to compensate for the energy pack in the grip and to minimize recoil," Yazoo said, his finger drawing down the sections of the gun. "And I may need to rebore the barrel. We'll know once we testfire with Loz's energy clip."

Yazoo shrugged, his head tilting thoughtfully to look at the gun. "It really doesn't matter, it's not that much work. I like to do it and it keeps us busy. Besides, if we make you happy, it's an investment for more work."

Nodding, Yazoo straightened at the counter. He pulled out a grease pencil and placed it on the counter to wait for her.

She'd been meaning to head to the new arms shop in town, and she finally caught time on Friday afternoon. The tension around school - and the lack of concealed-carry weaponry - made her twitchy.

No one else was going to die because people were too damned stupid to breathe before shooting.

"Hello?" she called, looking for the shopkeeper.

Used to surly arms dealers, Beka didn't bat an eyelash, but got straight to the point. "Tension's thick in town. Someone's going to get hurt. I'm looking for something that can fell a demon or a human - without doing either permanent damage."

[identity profile] valentine-tart.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Beka eyed her calmly. "I've got no problems with killing. I have weapons for that on my ship. It's just that I happen to like these people." A quick glance at the brochure tells her the plasma grenade might suit...if she were Anders or Kara. "Anything like that in a gun? I'm used to shooting things, not playing hoops."

[identity profile] valentine-tart.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
A slow, wry smile spread over Beka's face, then she shrugged. "Only when they piss me off. Or they're trying to kill each other."

The rifle looked about right for a setting when she knew there'd be trouble. She nodded. "I like this plasma rifle, and I'll probably take two if you're seeling, to alternate like it suggests. But I'd be very interested in something smaller, concealable. The only thing I have now is a gauss-weapon that dissassembles into a matched bracelet, earrings, and a necklace. Problem with it is, it's got one setting: permanent cellular dispersal. I'd be willing to compromise in favor of something that I could set low enough not to kill..."

John walked in, spying Tex behind the counter. "Hello. I got a voice mail?"

[identity profile] apocalypsesoon.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Spiffy. I love the smell of fresh ammo in the evening. Any difficulties?"

[identity profile] apocalypsesoon.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Very nice. And you're still quite certain you don't reload spent brass here? I'm thinking that if I can get some space, I can set up a small business here, just to keep myself in ammo by reloading other people's brass."

"Very nice work." He begins to haggle about the price, a small smile on his face.

[identity profile] apocalypsesoon.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
"It's not so much that I need room, but I need a secure place to put it. Fireproof safe for the powder. Decent desktop to mount the thing."

John pulled out a computer printout from his pocket on reloaders (http://dillonprecision.com/template/p.cfm?maj=6&dyn=1&) and showed it to Teh Uberkool Gun Chick.

"And I'm fairly certain that this violates the weapons ban in the dorm."
