Tex took a deep breath, the familiar tang of filtered air filling her lungs. It was good to feel the weight of her armour pressing on her shoulders again, the heightened reflexes and strength. This was probably the best mood you could possibly catch her in.

During her morning meanderings, Duce headed through the park. Walking along, not paying much attention to anything, until the snakes bombard her with images of a big.. black.. shiny.. thing. She stops, the attention of many pairs of eyes riveted. Her brain whirls, mental rolodex coming up with something Salmoneus said last week. She tentatively asks, "Tex? Is that you under .. all that?"

Remembering the girl from Red's shop, Tex nodded. "Yes."

Duce relaxes somewhat at the confirmation. Good. No big alien robot invasions today, at least. "Hi. We're Medusa, Red's assistant. Headed by your shop this morning, but it was closed. Will you be open at all this weekend? Wanted to ask you about something."

"We? Are you royalty or something?" Tex asked amused. "The shop's closed on weekends, but you can ask."

Duce quirks a smirk, "Demi-deity, thus, somewhat above royalty." She shakes her head quickly, to indicate she's joking, and waves a hand at the snakes, "Symbiotic relationship." She considers a moment, and asks, "You sell defensive stuff as well as offensive? We have a .. problem."

"Technically, offense is the best defense." Tex smirked and raised an eyebrow. "What are you looking for?"

Pointing at her sunglasses (http://www.picture-newsletter.com/glasses/sunglasses-woman.jpg), Duce answers, "Don't know how much of Earth history you know.. We're a gorgon. Our gaze turns living creatures to stone. So far, the best solution we've come up with is opaque wrap-arounds that block the gaze entirely, but.. we'd like a better solution. Either something for us, to prevent the stonegaze from being aribitrary, or something for our friends and roommates, so they don't inadvertantly become statues if they catch us during one of the few moments we don't have the glasses on."

Tex blinks, this wasn't exactly a problem she'd encountered before. "I'm not sure what you'd want me to do. I specialise in blowing things up. If you know something that you want, I can try getting my hands on it."

Duce shakes her head, "That's just it.. we have no idea what'd work. We'd need some sort of .. contacts or something, that were clear yet blocked the properties. Either for us or for other people. Someone said that in some universes, people have eye-lasers and that there are things to block 'em, so.. thought.. maybe..something could work for this."

A hand rubs across the back of her neck, "Just.. if you hear of anything like that, we'd be interested, and cost.. isn't a problem."

"Eye-lasers," Tex considers it. "I haven't heard of anything like that before, but if I do find something I'll let you know."

Duce shrugs and thumbs at the school, "We get all sorts up there. People from the past, people from the future, people from alternate versions of reality.. so you never know. Definitely let me know. The main objective is to keep people safe from the gaze, the secondary objective.." She hesitates, and then says quietly, "To look at least a little more normal."

"I suppose that means you're not open to just putting on a helmet?" Tex sneered.

Duce smirks wryly, "Been there, done that, and they," she indicates the snakes, "hated it. Ever been bitten by dozens of hemotoxic pit vipers before, all at once, on your scalp? Take it from me, it's not fun. So no, helmet's right out."

"No, can't say that I have." Tex replies simply.

"We don't recommend it as a life experience," Duce says dryly, "However, if you're ever in the need for some really ugly biovenom, let us know. As long as it's not sold local. Red would shoot us. They have to be milked every day, so there's usually a surplus."

"Really now?" Tex sounds a lot more interested in that. "I might pick you up on that."

Duce nods. "Also have the kit to make the antivenom. Kinda necessary," she notes wryly.

"We can get you a set of specs on the venom and drop it by the store on Monday, if you want?"

"That would be good, we can discuss prices then." Tex nods.

Duce nods, "Will do." Waving at the taller woman, she heads off.
