Phale's Rare Books, Saturday

The sign on the door reads CLOSED. There's a light on, somewhere deep within the shop. You can try knocking, but it's unlikely that you'll get an answer.

Across the street, leaning against the Police Box and staring at the shope, he stands smoking. Just a casual fellow, having a casual cigarette. No outward show of his feelings about going to talk to the angel, just...suave. Like always.

Yazoo pulled up in front of the shop and backed his bike in. With Kadaj at the pub to put in the liquor order and Loz still back at their house working on the bikes, he was alone this time.

Alert and tense in case the red beast jumped him, Yazoo straightened his gunblade at the small of his back and went to the door. The shop looked closed but it was closed last night. The man had said he could go in any time and Yazoo tried the door only to find it locked.

He peered in the window again and saw that the man was there but the door was locked anyway.

Yazoo stepped back and made a slow turn in the street to see the dark man across the street. They had been together in the park that night, maybe they were friends.

He crossed the street. Maybe this man knew how to get in.

[Watching the boy approach, he pulls the cigarette from his lips and exhales slowly. He gives the boy a nod of greeting.]

Standing there for a moment, Yazoo nodded back and looked at the shop. "Are you waiting for it to open?"

[identity profile] flash-serpent.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Not exactly. Was there something you were going to buy, or did you just want to speak to my angel?

[identity profile] ac-brothers.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Something I was looking for," Yazoo said, his attention on the shop. "He said it was always open." Looking at the dark man, "it's not," he said simply.

[Knowing Aziraphale would hate to be thought a liar, he drops his cigarette and crushes it under his shoe]

It's open, boy. You just need the magic word.

[He strides across the street and takes the knob in his hand. The lock undoes itself, perhaps out of fear, and he mutters under his breath as he entered the shop ahead of the boy.]

[identity profile] ac-brothers.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Is he sick?" Yazoo asked, looking around. He had an idea of what he wanted and just needed to find it.

[identity profile] flash-serpent.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Looking around the shop, it seemed...unusual. There was no tea service, no tempting smells of pasrties or savory tarts. Only a faint glow, so very diminished from usual, coming from the back. Distracted, he brushes the boy off like a small mosquito.]

Yes. Find your books. I'll be back.

[He walks to the back of the shop.]

[He stands in the entryway, watching the angel for quite a while. Unsure of what to do, he chooses the comfortable option. He walks over slowly and sits at Aziraphale's feet, resting his head on the angel's knee.]

Yazoo watched the man walk through and tilted his head. He was definitely not like the other at all.

He started to follow him and stopped in the middle of the shop. Something wasn't right here and while Yazoo did enjoy the chocolate, he disliked a break in a routine he was becoming accustomed to. It sat ill on him.

Walking through town, Aayla finds herself around Aziraphale's shop. Deciding to stop in for a while, she arrives, greeted only by a "Closed" sign. Her eyebrows furrow and she frowns in mildly alarmed confusion, but she can't find any distinct disturbances in The Force... other than the one standing across the street in the form of a suave looking man.

[identity profile] maias-notebook.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Maia came up she watched Aayla for a moment and then said, "I wouldn't go in if I were you." She was not smiling she was merely staring at the locked door.

[identity profile] azurejedi.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
The sudden words startle her slightly from her aura search, and she turns her head to look at the pretty blonde who spoke to her. She then turns back to look at the store, her mouth straight and eyes serious and worried. She sighs. "I agree, Mr. Phale deserves his privacy... But I'm still worried," she says, not taking her eyes off the windows. "Do you know what's going on?"

[identity profile] maias-notebook.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Maia stared at the door. "Azirphale is in the back and the man across the street, Crowley, is going to go in to speak to him soon." Maia said, she glanced over she shoulder for a moment. "He is not the type to want people around when he is speaking to Aziraphale."

[identity profile] azurejedi.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Aayla glances behind her, turning her head as little as possible to see Crowley. Even though she works for him, she doesn't trust him. She steps back from the door slightly, turning to Maia. "I see..." Her gaze returns to the shop for a few moments, then to Maia once more, crossing her arms. "Do you know if Mr. Phale alright, though?"

[identity profile] maias-notebook.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Maia looks at her curiously for a moment and then decides to answer. "He is, he is thinking or meditating. I don't see his head lifting up until Mr. Crowley goes in there and sits down." Maia frowned for a moment and then she smiled to reassure the girl "He is ok." Maia now stepped back from the door. "My name's Maia."

[identity profile] azurejedi.livejournal.com 2005-11-05 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Aayla's lilac eyes go wide with the realization of this girl's unusual abilities. She looks at her, surprised only for a moment. "I'm Aayla." she says, feeling some intangible power flow from the girl. "You could see all that?" she asks, not surprised at the ability itself, just how the girl could use it.

[identity profile] maias-notebook.livejournal.com 2005-11-06 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Maia smiled. "Very nice to meet you Aayla." She considered Aayla's words studying her for a moment before answering her. "Yeah, I- well I am familiar with Aziraphale so its a bit easier to see him you know, even when the door is locked." She smiles slightly at that.

[identity profile] azurejedi.livejournal.com 2005-11-06 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Aayla doesn't believe the modesty of reply for a second. She looks slightly skeptically at Maia. "Yes, I suppose one can get a clearer... idea... of someone they know well... Someone that one is close to is more readily on the mind." Looking at Maia, it seems obvious that she knows something more that what Maia has told her.

[identity profile] maias-notebook.livejournal.com 2005-11-06 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Maia nodded slightly fixing Aayla in her gaze, the color of Maia's eyes was black as usual and her stare had a penetrating quality to it. "Yes, it does." Maia kept her eyes on her "And what do you sense in there?" Maia is very certain the girl in front of her can sense things, she watched the girl before she approached and how closely Aayla was studying the door.

((thats fine we can play later *smiles* have a fun whatever your up to))

[identity profile] azurejedi.livejournal.com 2005-11-06 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
Slowly turning back to the store, Aayla closes her eyes. Her face is serene at first, then after a while her eyebrows furrow and her lips loosen into what's close to a frown. She opens her eyes and turns to Maia, looking at the ground every so often. "Aziraphale is there... and I suppose it's Crowley that's balancing his aura... and... I sense some passion... extreme emotion..." Her eyes narrow and she looks displeased at this.

[identity profile] maias-notebook.livejournal.com 2005-11-06 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Maia nods. "Aziraphale loves him. He told me that he does." Maia sighed stepping from the door further and blushing slightly. "There are things.." Maia said bitting her lip slightly. "Things that are very private for Aziraphale that I should'nt be seeing." Maia glanced back up at Aayla "The passion that you were feeling might um, be a result of that. I can't feel things I can only see them but.." She said trailed off.

Lana comes by to try and return the books she had gotten there, but the shop is obviously closed. She sighs and looks down at them. "I guess I'm just meant to keep them for a while longer," she says resignedly.
