The back room has been aired out, snacks and drinks procured, and now Geoff is just hanging out, waiting for his guests.

[If, the Doctor resolved, he were a stronger man, he would have completely disagreed to this entire venture. But somehow, he'd been persuaded to play cards by a bloody pretty boy who just happened to be part of the great English literature pantheon...
The latter part was not the unusual bit.
So he fortified his armory with a hundred dollars worth of good whisky, picked up CJ, and headed over. Ringing the doorbell, he looks slightly on edge. Thank god everyone's at that Echolls party...]

[At the sound of the doorbell (a sound he admittedly was still getting used to), Geoff jumps up from the couch where he'd been lounging and heads for the door. Flinging it open, he grins broadly at Ten and CJ.]

Well, come on in! [He hugs both and relieves Ten of the whiskey.]

[Geoff takes the beer from CJ as well.] Thank you! Make yourselves comfortable -- I actually have an icebox in here, so I'll put this up. You two have never been here to the shop, have you?

[Opens the door, smiling.] Beer is good. Hi, Adam.

[Looks a bit startled.] Hello, CJ. I didn't know you were going to come tonight. [He doesn't move.]

[Seeing Adam, Geoff waves and calls to him from across the room.] Adam! Come in!

[He jumps back up from the couch and walks quickly over.] Glad you came.

Adam, don't just stand there like a rock. Get in here and explain poker to Geoff, because I can't seem to manage. [His smile is slightly sly, but genuine.]

[She kisses him hard and hungry, then whispers--]
