Monday Morning at the Museum

Amanda is in her office, the door is open should anyone stop by. She's trying to think of ideas of how to get the museum more business. She decides that maybe her employees could spread the word up at the school, and that might help some.

Pauge comes into work a little early today, "Is there anything you'd like me to do?" she asks Amanda

"Morning Paige. I was wondering if you might want to make some flyers for the museum and pass them out at school?" Amanda asks her. "We need to get some people in here."

Paige smiles "Yeah sure I'll do something in study hall. I can think of a few students that might be interested in the museum and I'm sure it'll be helpful for classes."

Amanda nods. "That would be great, maybe ask if some classes want to come to see exhibits."

Paige nods "sure i'll see if I can get hold of the class lists and start approaching the teachers for you."

((I'm assumming there's pretty much something on every topic in the museum?))

"Thank you, that will be lovely." Amanda says, quite pleased.

Paige smiles "I'll start after work and let you know what I come up with."

"Thank you Paige." Amanda says. "There are a few exhibits in the east wing that need cataloguing if you'd like to start there."

Paige nods "of course I'll go do that now and think about which classes would be most interested in a trip here."

((Paige will come back from lunch having clearly been crying btw))

"Thank you." Amanda says.

Paige goes into the east wing for a couple of hours then comes out.

"I've done that is it cool if I go on my break now?" she asks

Amanda nods. "Have a nice lunch, Paige." she tells her.

Paige walks out and returns thirty minutes later, walking past Amanda quickly into the bathroom to fix her make-up

Once inside she rests her head against he sink and takes a few deep breathes

Amanda follows her into the ladies room. "Is everything alright?" she asks her.

Paige looks up at her employer "I-I'm ok, it's just..." she trails off "I'm sorry, I won't let this happen again."

"Shh. It's fine." Amanda says. "Just tell me, maybe it will help to talk about it."

She takes deep breath "I'm meant to be in an open relationship, but well I don't think my boyfriend is so keen on he idea anymore, but it's-it's kinda too late."

"Oh..." Amanda says, she gets it. "What do you mean too late?" she asks, handing Paige some paper towels.

She takes the paper towel "thank you." she says wiping her eyes

"I'm already seeing someone else, well not seeing exactly, but I really care about him. He's...nice, I'm worried about what James, my boyfriend might do."

Amanda nods. Love was complicated, she knew that all too well, probably part of the reason she always left. "Well you agreed to an open relationship, did you not?"

Paige nods "yeah we did and it was the main reason I was ready to start another relationship so soon. I had my heart broken you see, I was in a very serious relationship with an older man and it got too serious too soon, so when I started seeing James we agreed on an open relationship for both our sakes. Only I think he's changed his mind or something."

Amanda nods, "Talk to him, tell him thats not what you wanted...that you're not ready to see him exclusively" she suggests.

Page looks at her and nods "but what if he doesn't agree to that. I do love him, it's just...we agreed on an open relationship damn it, so why do I fell so bad?"

"Maybe deep down you don't want an open relationship either."

She nods slowly "I think maybe you're right Amanda,"

She closes her eyes for a moment, it was like Geoff all over again and that really didn't end very well, she didn't want that to happen again

"I should tell him shouldn't i?"

Amanda nods. "You should."

"I will, I'll tell him everything, I'll tell him he's the only one I want and just...hope for the best." she bites her lip "Thank you Amanda, I'm sorry I've not been a very good employee, I shouldn't be crying in the bathroom at work."

"Don't worry about it." Amanda says. "I've been there too, I could never commit, always running away and I think I lost a chance with a great guy that I may never get back..." Amanda says, thinking about a certain someone. "Follow your heart." she says softly.

Paige smiles finally "Thank you, I'll do that." she thinks about Geoff just a for moment knowing she has to let that go "I'll tell him everything, I won't let this one go."

She takes a deep breath "I really like working here, thank you for giving me a chance."

"I'm happy I could help." Amanda says. "You're a great employee, Paige. Now go home and tell him." she smiles at her.

"what now? I still have another couple of hours to work, I don't mind staying and working, honestly" she says looking suprised

"Go Paige, please." Amanda says. "I know you want to, and I don't really believe in rules anyway."
