The Park Afternoon/Lunchtime (Paige/Fred thread NFB)

Paige was sitting on a bench, looking a little unhappy, she had stop being so implusive and just think about what she was doing. She pulled about a muffin and started to throw bits to the ducks.

Fred spies Paige from across the park, she had just grabbed a muffin herself and walked up. "Hey Paige. Is this bench taken?" Fred said with a goofy grin. Seeing Paige not look very happy she stopped short "Hey, hey what's the matter?"

Paige forces a smile, "Sure join me, please, I'm just... James" she says like Fred will know what she's talking about

Fred thinks back to the southern boy she had meet in the coffee shop. "What's wrong with Sawyer?" Fred said taking a bite.

She sighs "I love James, Sawyer, only it's meant to be an open relationship and there's someone else, only I think he's mad about it and I don't know what to do."

Fred chews her muffin for a few minutes..."Well then why don't you guys discuss it. If he does not want it open any longer I mean. What is it about the other guy your so drawn to?"

Paige shrugs "I dunno I don't think he could admit something like that, I mean the whole reason I broke up with Geoff was so that I could have a little more freedom and as for the other guy well I was drawn to his shyness and well to be honest...he's so beautiful, I just couldn't resist him and I didn't think I had too."

She looks out on to the pond, "I care about them both, I just don't know what to do."

Fred sat thinking "Well, talking is always the best thing to do. Tell Sawyer everything you just told me."

She lets out a hollow laugh "you think I should tell Sawyer I think Jonathan's beautiful?"

She looks down at her lap "I always manage to mess everything up." she says her eyes filling with tears

Fred jerked her head a little and frowned. "Because you should talk to him maybe if you talked to him things wouldn't get so messed up."

Paige nods slowly "or maybe he'll freak out and remind me what a jackass he can be." she sighs, he was gonna kick off she was sure.

Fred frowned "He really cares about you." Fred said throwing the last of her muffin out

"I-I know and I love him, but well I remember what he was like when we first met, I hated him, but well he's nice when he's with me but...I just think he might revert back to his old ways amd I don't know what I'll do."

She puts her head in her hands "I don't either of them getting hurt." she says bursting into tears

Fred frowned, she wished Evie was there she was so much better at these things. "Well" Fred patted Paige on the back "There there. It will be ok."

Paige shakes her head "I don't think it will though."

Fred does a nervous glance around the park hoping to spot her dark eyed girl but sees nobody. "Hey listen, Sawyer is ok he really is. Why don't you at least give him a chance to know about it."

She closes her eyes for a moment, she was gonna have to protect Jonathan from Sawyer she knew it, she should talk to him first.

"He knows." she says simply

Fred looked surprised by this knowledge. "Oh, I-I thought he didn't know." Fred looked confused.

"The radio" she says simply finally looking up, "but he knew i had a date with him, it wasn't such an issue, but well something happened at Logan's party at the weekend and...he's mad at me."

Fred thought about Sawyer for a moment and how sweet he was when she had met him and how much he cared for Paige. "Well, I like Sawyer. What is so damn great about this other guy that you cant get with Sawyer?"

Paige blushes she can hardly tell someone she hardly knows that she likes Jonathan because of his submissiveness and love of kinky sex and she's already mentioned how beautiful she found him.

"They're just completely different, I-I don't love Jonathan, I don't really know him well enough, but he-he just gives me somthing that Sawyer can't" control

"Well... its sounds like your just into this other guy for his looks or whatever. And this Sawyer guy, you guys love each other so you gotta ask yourself if a pretty face is worth more then loving someone."

She shakes her head, "It's not like that," she looks up at her "It was meant to be an open relationship, this isn't all my fault!"
