Spike's Pub - Open 11/7

It was a busy day for the brothers. A trip to the mainland to get emergency parts, the rest of the afternoon spent working on the bikes and their current projects to bring in money. They knocked off long enough to shower and take off for Spike's to open the pub.

Everything put to rights inside, they flipped on the sign to OPEN.

Rodney sits down and orders a beer.

Tex entered the pub and scanned the crowd. With a nod to Yazoo, she took a seat at the bar.

Rodney stared at...him? Her? It?

"It's come to my notice that you're not exactly human - or, at least," he amends, "you don't look it. Who and what are you?"

Tex froze. It was hard to believe he'd just asked that.

"None of your damn business, meathead."

Yazoo slid her whiskey in front of her, giving her a wary smile. Drawing the guy a beer, he set it down in front of him and raised an eyebrow in warning.

Tex reached up and took her helmet off. "No girlie drink, huh?" She asked with a quick smile.

"Not tonight. One a week is my limit," he said lightly.

"Hey," Rodney protested, "I'm new to the town and m still learning everyone's names. And, in some cases, their species. So it was just a curious question."

"Tex. Human." She said, then turned to look at him. "Curiosity killed the cat."

Late Evening

Having finally recovered his coat, Geoff strides into the pub, carrying his book and quill as usual. He gives a wave and a grin at the brothers, and takes up a spot at a table against the wall, near the back.

Loz watched Geoff come in and a grin spread across his face. He closed the books Yazoo had bought him, leaving them on the end of the bar. While Kadaj worked in the back and Yazoo watched the bar, he pulled Geoff a pint. It was quiet, most nights are lately, and he strolled over to where Geoff settled in and setting the beer in front of him. "Hey."

"Hey," Geoff replies, smiling. He toes the chair toward Loz and takes a long draught of the beer. "I guess the curfew isn't very good for business, is it?"

"No it isn't," he sat down and leaned on the table. "Yazoo said that it's because of us."

"What do you mean, because of you? The slow business or the curfew?" He frowns as he takes another sip of the beer. "Because, honestly, I don't see how either could possibly be your fault."

"Not the curfew. That one wasn't us," he laughed. "The business. People want to see Spike, not us." Leaning in, Loz whispered, "apparently, we scare people."

Laughing, Geoff leans in as well. "Really? Are you doing it on purpose?"

[She walks in, having left the kitchen in the care of Ten...she was almost afraid to see the state of it when she went home. Looking for dinner and a friendly face, she came in for food, and looked around for Kadaj. Geoff was there, but he was talking to the other brother, so she sat at the bar.]

Yazoo leaned on the bar in front of CJ and blinked slowly. "What are you drinking?"

Could I just get a coke? And are you serving any food tonight?

Shaking his head, hair swaying with the motion, he pushed up from the bar and got her the coke. "Spike only arranged to have snacks catered for the Pub," he said. with her glass, he gestured against one wall to the small buffet type spread before setting it down in front of her. "And the pizza restaurant delivers."

Oh, ok. No problem. Is, um, Kadaj around?

"Sure." Yazoo stepped away from the bar and went to the storeroom, standing at the door for a moment. He looked over at CJ before saying something else and then went to wait on another customer.

Kadaj came out of the back and headed to where CJ sat. He looked at her with a small smile. "Hey."

Hey. [She smiles and takes a sip of her soda.] Sorry to bother you at work.
