Jack's Roses Monday Morning

Since Buffy didn't have classes this morning, she showed up to open the shop.

She flipped the sign to "OPEN" and settled in behind the counter to tally up receipts and orders.

Han walks in.

"Hey." He stops and thinks for a minute and then comes up with a name, and a slightly off-color smirk. "Buffy, isn't it?"

He looks over the selection.

"I need two flowers. The big flat red kind with the dangly stamens. They're tropical."

Buffy gives him a smirk of her own. "Yeah, it's Buffy." She thinks for a moment. "Bird of Paradise?"

"Yeah. You with with us on zombie night. You still got one of my blasters, I think. Keep it."

He looks at the picture. "No, not bird of paradise." He looks at the other pictures in the book and on the walls. "These. Anthuriums."

Buffy smiles at Han. "I'm sorry I was such a bitch to you. It's hard when people assume that because I'm a tiny blonde I can't fight."

She looks at the flowers. "I think we have some of those in the back."

Buffy ducks into the back cooler and comes back with three of the Anthuriums. "How's Bagoas doing? I haven't seen him lately...then again, I've also been avoiding people."

"None of us were at our best. And Frank always spoke well of you. Usually to remind me you could take me apart if you wanted to."

He smiles. "Bagoas is doing real well. He's living with me now. School's going pretty good for us both."

He tips his head to show off the earring. "He talked me into this."

Buffy's face shadows at the mention of Frank. "He never even said goodbye..."

She shakes her head and smiles at the earring. "Obviously, Bagoas has very good taste."

"I didn't get one either. It was real urgent."

Han gives her a half smile. "Good taste in jewelry. Not so sure about his taste in men. But, he can't say I don't think about him."

He pays for the flowers.

Buffy only charges Han for two. "The third one is on me, Han. It's for both you and Bagoas."

She smiles.

"I won't tell Bagoas you said that. I think he has good taste because you seem to do right by him. Even that night in the midst of the fighting I could tell how you two felt about each other. I'm glad to see that it does work out for some people."

Han gives her a real smile and heads out.
